Convenient location and very clean.
Wi-fi didn't work. Bathroom was outmoded. We were surprised by a demand for USD 100 deposit, which had not been discloses and without which we could not get the code to enter.
The inn is close to the beach and to downtown Pacific Grove. The fireplace looks antique and beautiful. The price was reasonable.
No live staff existed. I could not understand the staff on the phone.
Location
Room was shabby and no amenities.
Perfect location and very clan. We loved this room with the balcony!
Excellent breakfast, very kind staff and owner, beautifully kept old Victorian house.
Walking distance to market, restaurants & Lover's Point.
Location. Liked there were two rooms
Cold. Gas fireplaces did not put out heat. More of a visual. Heat source was a small portable electric heater. Big difference in amenities of neighboring rooms in a separate building. Mattress uncomprtable
Convenient location and lovely rooms!
The way this inn is managed made our stay somewhat uncomfortable. When we called to receive our door code, we spoke to someone off the property who wasn’t familiar enough with the property to know whether or not someone was available in person. He asked for credit card information over the phone, which made me suspect I was being scammed. Thankfully, the Charles Inn which shares a parking lot had access and was able to get us set up.
Steer clear! This place looks appealing from the curb but it’s a whole different story on the inside. The vintage/victorian aspect should make this place stand out. However, what you’ll find is an immediate musty smell, utilities and appliances that do not work ( and even when you report these defects to management- you are ignored). The Wi-Fi does not work! The parking is extremely limited with tiny spaces. The wallpaper is coming off of the walls. There is no central air so the windows open, but this area is extremely humid! The fan provided works halfway. There is no refrigerator or microwave in the room. You can purchase breakfast for $35! This place is a JOKE! Steer clear!!!
Locatie perfect, self- check in, prima bed
The bed and pillows very comfortable. The innkeeper was also so friendly and helpful. Also, allowing us a late checkout without a charge was appreciated.
The plumbing, windows, and outside furniture need updating badly. I didn’t shower because the water had a rusty color when it first came out. The sink fixtures are wearing away. The windows allow moisture in and need replacing.
Nice location. Quiet area.
The room smelled old (probably because it is)
I got to check in early - the Innkeeper, Paula, was friendly and accomodating. Parking was easy and convenient in the private lot, which is good because I didn't move the car the entire stay. I walked everywhere! I had a room at the back of the Inn - even had my own sweet courtyard off the porch. Utterly charming! The room was cozy, quiet, comfortable "lived in" feeling. (A knob missing here, a bit of paint needed there but it was perfect for me!) The location is exactly what I wanted - a couple blocks to a coffeeshop, one more to the main street, and a few more to the ocean - simply delightful! I will return.
The tv was a bit difficult to navigate and had issues with connectivity.
Location
Nothing
The Victorian style and classiness.
No lil fridge
We didn’t get there until after 11 PM and no one was there to let us in. We had to call a number in another country in order to be able to get the code and everything to get into the room.
There were knobs off on the dresser and the top sheet was extremely work out & thread bare & needs be thrown away. We let the the Housekeeper know that. Definitely needs.
Not a problem if you don’t need to work from the room and enjoy no service when you check in. Last night had a tough check in. I called to self-check during the staffed hours in afternoon, want given the direct number to the staff, and got building code. However, the foreign call center rep didn’t ask for credit card for incidentals (room was pre-paid) and after hauling my three bags up 3 flights of stairs, had to to back down to call them again, then go back upstairs again with all my bags. I got to the inn by 10 pm and had to figure it where the room was, poor signage, and why the code wasn’t working out on my own. Then got up early (loud seagulls at 6 am) only to find out that coffee isn’t served until 8 am. No desk in room to set up my computer either. This is a bed n breakfast, not an inn. Recommend if you are older and have good knees, plan on just sleeping there and leaving early since check out is 10 am. Overall a frustrating, isolating experience that allows the owners to enjoy passive income.
Room was very clean and charming.
