A Comfortable Place to Land After a Long Day Traveling
Pros:

Our room was spacious, quiet, and comfortable. The man at the reception desk made us feel quite at home - he was very nice, helpful, and gracious. Great location between Manchester-Picadilly train station and the North Manchester neighborhood.

Cons:

In spite of both their own website and Booking.com's website saying this hotel has a restaurant available for three meals a day, this is not true. It only serves food for breakfast, and the rest of the time it's just a bar.

Worlds comfiest bed, beautiful hotel, clean, friendly staff
Pros:

The cleanliness, the staff were helpful and relaxed, the building is absolutely beautiful. What I loved most was how comfortable the bed and pillows were it was incredible.

Cons:

Only thing I noticed is I’ve never stayed anywhere that doesn’t have any freebies! There were tea bags, sugar, milk and some custard creams but when I’ve stayed in the past they had sewing kits, chocolates, eye masks, toiletries that weren’t in containers. But that’s not a massive issue but i love having those things when I stay in a hotel

Was alright but had little ups and downs
Pros:

Everything was nice the staff roooms were clean everything was alright

Cons:

Had loads of issues with the keycards their server wasnt working one time later on they sroted it but still the cards wouldnt work fine and they used to lock the hotel main entrance at night had to ring the bell everytime i came in which i felt was inconvenient

A beautiful piece of history with lovely decor and well planned rooms.
Pros:

The hotel has so much character, and they took such thought in decor, and interesting touches, all which made our stay more enjoyable.

Sehr schönes Hotel, zentral gelegen, gutes Frühstück und freundliches Personal.
Pros:

Super Hotel direkt am Bahnhof Picadilly. Alle Attraktionen sind fußläufig erreichbar. Wir hatten etwas Sorgen in Bezug auf die in den früheren Bewertungen oft erwähnte fehlende oder nicht funktionierende Klimaanlage. In unserem Zimmer (413) war jedoch AC vorhanden und hat auch einwandfrei funktioniert. Das Zimmer war groß und die Einrichtung hochwertig. Betten gemütlich und Bad groß und sauber. Das Hotel ist hellhörig, das ist aber dem alten Gebäude geschuldet und lässt sich mit Oropax gut regeln. A la carte Frühstück (bei unserer Buchung inklusive) war hervorragend und das Personal wirklich sehr freundlich.

Cons:

Kurz vor unserer Abreise wurde wegen Wartungsarbeiten das Wasser abgestellt - blöd wenn man gerade am Händewaschen oder Duschen ist. Hier hätte man den Gästen per Aushang o.ä. Bescheid geben sollen.

great building. i loved the high ceilings, the victorian tiles on the stairs, and the steel beams and high ceilings of the rooms.

Great breakfast

Cons:

there was only one bedside.light for two people. We had breakfast included, which was a good breakfast, but would have liked more toast. In future, I would proba ly have breakfast elsewhere, given there are places really close by.

Quick trip to meet friends
Pros:

Fun decor in the room, staff were lovely and really helpful. The Air Con was very much appreciated too!

Cons:

The lifts are a bit slow and clunky, and there was a bit of noise from the other rooms (mainly doors closing very heavily) but otherwise a lovely stay.
