Hotel Cromwell Stevenage

I didn’t actually stay at the Hotel Cromwell. When I arrived it became clear that there was a very noisy festival going on, so I opted to drive back home to London instead. The hotel very kindly didn’t charge me for my (non-)stay. I very much appreciated this, hence the high scores. The hotel looked excellent from what I had time to see!

If you are thinking of having your wedding here- do it!

Firstly, I want to thank Paul- from the beginning you have been so helpful with planning our special day. You took us through every step and kept us updated along the way. From the initial meeting to the menu tasting, we couldn't fault a thing. Thank you 🩷

Secondly, I'd like to thank Megan.

She helped us so much on the actual day, more than she probably realises. Everything was taken care of and she was a pleasure to be around. Anything we asked for, she was just willing to help and we didn't have to worry about a thing. Everyone commented how lovely Megan was.

They both work so, so hard and it didn't go unnoticed!


There was also a young man, who was there on the day, who was also so amazing, unfortunately I don't know his name, but would like to thank you to him too.

Additionally, the room, breakfast, dinner the night before, little touches: like the gift in our room, all just added to the amazing experience!

From the bottom of our hearts, we want to thank you all SO much!

We got married here on Saturday and I couldn’t be happier with our experience. From start to finish the team have been incredible. We had the most perfect day thanks to them, nothing was too much for them. I would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting a beautiful wedding at an actual reasonable price!

We had a family room which was very nicely appointed. The hotel has a antique/boutique feel to it throughout and decor was very nice.
The beds were comfy, the bathroom was nice with a good strong shower. The rooms don’t have aircon, but they do have aircon units which were very welcome.
The breakfast was especially good, one of the best that I’ve experienced. We would very much like to return.

We honestly couldn’t have asked for a more perfect place to get married. From the moment we started planning, right through to the wedding day itself, the team at Hotel Cromwell were absolutely incredible.

Lina was amazing throughout the build-up, always keeping me calm, answering every question (including the ones I probably didn’t need to ask!) and making me feel completely reassured. Then, on the day, Megan was simply outstanding. I genuinely cannot sing her praises highly enough. She was attentive, kind, professional and somehow seemed to be on top of absolutely everything — including things I hadn’t even thought about!

The whole team were superb. Their service was impeccable, and I felt so relaxed on the day because I knew everything was being taken care of. They really did make me feel like royalty, and that is something I’ll never forget. 👑

The food was incredible too. Everything was beautifully presented, piping hot and absolutely delicious, and all of our guests commented on how much they loved it. The drinks were flowing all day and were equally fantastic! 🥂

The bridal suite was another highlight. Having it the night before and the night of the wedding made the whole experience feel even more special, and it was absolutely beautiful. The garden was also set up perfectly and exactly how I had imagined it.

Even now, after talking with my husband and our families, we’re all still so chuffed with how amazing the day was. Everything was just so well organised, professional and genuinely special. I honestly don’t think I can put into words just how brilliant the whole experience was.

We had our Wedding at hotel cromwell and it was absolutely perfect
here are some things they did/ have included in their package that made our day so special

- Our meetings with Lina, Megan and Alfie before/during the wedding were brilliant, they listened to all of our concerns and questions and had an answer for it all!

- Everything was seamless, i didnt need to worry to ask for a thing. before i could even think about it, it was done, whether that was bringing us pastries to the room in the morning or moving decorations.

- the whole day was expertly handled down to the music, drinks food and schedule. the staff paid extreme attention to detail

- the food was smashing - we had some picky eaters and vegans and they all enjoyed the food

- they are so accomodating with the extra little bits for example: bringing me an extra free post ceremony drink when mine went warm in the sun or catering to our favourite sandwich filling for the evening buffet

- I created all the decorations myself and the staff were brilliant in helping set these up/ and move them on the day. i was so nervous about this part but they did it without me even noticing. They took this job very seriously and i was so grateful to see how amazing it all looked. They even help set up a dessert table that we provided!

Overall, id give them 11/10 if i could. The ceremony, the garden with all the furtinture laid out as well as the dining room/dance room were just amazing and i wouldnt have changed a thing.

Spacious room and comfortable bed.

Our family and friends enjoyed a wonderful stay for our wedding. The bar, reception and restaurant teams all delivered exceptional customer service. The rooms were comfortable and very good value, and the breakfast buffet offered a wide range of options. The restaurant also provided plenty of meal choices for anyone wishing to dine in.
Great location for High Street

We spent 2 nights at the Cromwell in a downstairs executive room. The staff here were so lovely, what a credit to the hotel.
Our room opened on to the carpark which was perfect as we had our little dog with us.
The room was 309, very comfortable with plenty of space.
The weather was hot but we were supplied with a powerful fan which kept the room cool, plus we could open the door to let the cooler air in occasionally.
There was a wedding and a festival the next day, all the employees were very busy but still managed to pull off exceptional service 🤗
The hotel has a great vibe, it is both traditional and cozy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you!

Had our wedding here in August 2026, cannot rate them highly enough, a lively venue made all the more special by such a wonderful team, not just the events team but all of the hotel staff were exceptional
