Nice overall building and pleasant reception staff.
Very slow and unattentive service in bar restaurant and oir particuoar room was ground floor and very basic.
The hotel is functional but no gardens or view beside Screwfix etc.
Room was clean.
I got food poisoning from a dessert on the second night and informed staff just to make sure the item was taken off the menu. I stressed that I didn't want to talk to any management as I didn't want compensation or anything like that, just the dessert taken off the menu in case more of it had gone off. I did feel like I was being fobbed off when I told staff The next night it was still on the menu.
There was serious noise from a adjoinijg room 2 nights in a row. It was an older couple shooting at each other. I rang reception over 15 times as it sounded bad next door. No answer anytime. I went down to reception and no staff where present. A sign was on the desk saying to ring the porter but that phone didn't work. The next night the same again and no answer from reception. Not a good stay or sleep any of the nights I stayed. It gave a bang of a cheap hotel from all of the issues combined and it certainly was not a cheap stay. Really hope it improves as it had a fantastic name historically.
Staff really pleasant very helpful. Pool, sauna etc was lovely very clean. Room spacious and not too warm
Nothing
The food and service in the Bar/Restaurant was excellent
While some rooms are being renovated the rest of the hotel is very worn and dated. Room priced as a 4 star but that’s not was delivered. Walls/doors marked. Paint scuffed etc. No fridge in room either.
Quite close to the centre of Letterkenny...10 Euro for taxi into town which is quite reasonable...The price at 135 Euros for the night was very competitive for a Saturday night stay.
The hotel has been recently renovated, although work is on-going. It had no impact on my stay which was pleasant.
Convenience
Nothing
