Not a 5 star hotel
Pros:

Title: Fell far short of five-star expectations

We had high hopes for this stay but unfortunately it did not come close to matching the price or the five-star billing.

The villa was poorly presented from the outset, extremely dusty, unclean, and not up to the standard you would expect at this level. The pool area drains were covered in hair, the sauna was out of service with hazard tape around part of it, and the spa garden had packaging left on the floor with a sofa covered in dark hair. The window in our children’s bedroom would not close properly, which was a genuine safety concern we shouldn’t have had to raise.

We flagged these issues at the front desk and the team member we dealt with was genuinely kind and tried his best. He arranged for us to view an alternative villa, which we appreciated, but relocating mid-stay with two young children simply wasn’t realistic. He also assured us a cleaner would attend our villa between 3:30 and 5pm. No cleaning had taken place when we returned.

A $200 credit was offered. Given the extent of the issues across the entire stay, we didn’t feel this came close to reflecting what we experienced.

The food also let us down. A cheese plate came out as a few cubes of orange cheese with what looked like leftover fruit from breakfast.

On our final morning we arrived for breakfast, which was included in our package, and were told no table was available because a reservation was required for Mother’s Day. I had to point out that breakfast was part of our booking before we were seated, without much warmth, after an uncomfortable exchange to start what should have been a relaxed last morning.

Since returning home I have emailed the property on several occasions and have not received a single response, which has honestly made the whole experience even more frustrating. I have photographs of everything mentioned and have now lodged a formal complaint. I wanted to share this so others can make an informed decision before booking.

Good location, accommodation was roomy and comfortable.

Cons:

Balcony's not being covered in so couldn't use as it was raining while we were there. Washing machine was out of order and we were not told that on check in so was disappointing to go to use the last day we were there.

Really disappointing
Pros:

Location and setting

Cons:

Young kids ran a mock (large tourism group) meaning we could not use the pools as we had planned.

Bedroom mattress was disgusting, it was completely collapsed on the left side meaning we both had to sleep in the equivalent of a single bed.

Great enjoyable stay would recommend to others
Pros:

Location close to restaurant and bar , breakfast was great , Rib night on Tuesday was great.

Cons:

Having to book a reservation at the restaurant , when we asked for a table we were refused, restaurant had only 10 or more people at tables.

Pros:

Loved the location, was nice and clean, comfortable, everything easy accessible.

Cons:

The only gripe I had was it would have been nice to have a toilet downstairs.
