I liked the overall design of the building.
Rooms looked into a central courtyard which got noisy when a few kids played in the pool. I can imagine how noisy it can get during school holidays. The airlock before the room entry needed air circulation as it had a strange smell. The stairs were hard to climb as they had high risers (bad design).
Staff, bed
No privacy for the spa. No toaster. No power points to charge phone
Nice room, enjoyed the spa and pool. Kid friendly.
A bit out of town, need a car
x3 Bedrooms with x3 large beds
Loved our spa bath
Staff - the front desk staff were fab! Helped in any and every way they could (all of them)
BBQs - great.
Garden and surrounds - beautifully maintained.
The awful smell that we eventually discovered was emitted from the air conditioners. (I remembered reading this mentioned multiple times in previous reviews so when I brought it to the front desks attention, they seemed surprised)
The size of the pools was way smaller in real life than in the pics and some of those staying on the ground floor (we were not) were very territorial over their pools so our kids didn't do a lot of swimming.
Not having our room cleaned/towels replaced regularly? We stayed for 11 nights and they didn't do them until night 9! As a resort rated at 4.5 stars that surprised us.
Slefish parkers - the resort was very full so parking was at a premium. We experienced lots of people parking across 2 bays which meant we had to park out on the street. No one appeared to be monitoring this?
We absolutely love coming to Silkari. This stay would be our fifth stay there. We love the position, the amenities and of course the weather!
The pool access room is just such a joy to stay in.
Thank you, and see you next year!
The room was large and clean and beds were comfy. The site was very well maintained.
Close to town. Pools, shared BBQ/kitchen area and white goods in the room. Bed is big and comfortable. Receptionist was clear about leaving the air con. on to avoid a mould problem due to the QLD climate. Laundry facilities available.
Needs a deeper clean in the bathroom. We saw a mouse in the pool area. From the reviews I expected a higher standard.
Position and distance from town
There was a lift which my husband needed.
We were next to young families that were a bit noisy.
Floor under beds hadn't been cleaned for a while.
TV didn't work even after replacing batteries in emote.
There was an old almost rusty, dirty phone in the room that didn't work. Might well remove it.
Spacious rooms and beautiful set up with lagoons and blue and white facade of the buildings. However: the pool, common entertainment area and balconies are all in the very narrow space. If there are kids at the pool or entertainment area you can forget about relaxing or taking a quite bath in your spa, which is in the balcony. Kids noise echo around the lagoons taking over the entire space. Rooms are relatively clean but hallways not. If you are looking for a quiet holiday, don’t go to this place, is what I would recommend.
Rooms were dirty and smelt. Pool was not cleaned.
Staff were fantastic, Loved the swimout room.
The outdoor pools were good.
The apartment had the tiniest sink for washing dishes and did not have a toaster. The bathroom floor tiles were old and outdated. The hotel is not in the main centre so you have to take a shuttle bus every time you want to go in which is $32 return for 2 people.
The swim out apartment with kitchen was great, clean and tidy
It seemed a bit older and was a bit further out of the main township than I had realised - but no issue just needed a car
We loved the swim out rooms and sun facing apartments.
Generous room sizes and full kitchen and washing facilities in apartments.
Great pool and spa on balcony
Bathroom was very unclean- terrible. Kitchen very poorly stocked
Rooms weren’t overly clean and old towels (we assume from previous guests) were found in the washing machine which weren’t collected for the entirety of our stay despite alerting reception twice. Room with carpet smelt moldy and the one with tiles was sticky from cleaning products. Kitchen had everything we needed. Location was ok.
