Spark By Hilton Galveston

The hotel was dirty, the second floor smelled like dog pee, none of the Ice machines worked on any of the floors, the hot tub did not work and there was mold all through the inside, the inside of the pool was broke and had sharp glass or whatever the pool is made out of it to where kids can step on it and slice themselves open, the pool room itself was super hot. Only one working elevator so you had to wait 30 minutes to use it or u can use the stairs which parking is limited so u have to park under the hotel and there is no door knob on the door to go up using the stairs so you have to walk all the way around the hotel to go inside and use the stairs on the first floor unless you want to wait in a hot parking garage with xiggerette buds and trash all through out it. When we checked in the lady at the desk was paying no attention to what she was doing gave us our room key said the room is on the third floor go all the way up there the room number she stated didn't even exist come to find out the room was on the second floor we get in after a long drive I started to get in the shower as I was standing there waiting 10 minutes for the water to heat up another guest opened the door seeing my naked body because the attendant at the front desk yet again wasn't paying attention to another check in and gave them OUR ROOM. When we confronted the desk we were told it wasn't their problem. After getting our key re enabled I go to actually shower again the shower takes 10 minutes to get warm then the bath tub started filling up because the drain was completely clogged. Next day breakfast served was bananas cereal or store bought muffins. We asked the attendant if they got everything figured out with our room and we wouldn't have issues with the key as the guest involved in the mix up was only staying there a day we were there for to the lady reassured us it was fixed.

We had originally booked a one night stay at this hotel for August 16, 2026. We decided to add another night so I called booking.com and the agent that I spoke with was very accommodating and was able to get another night added to our reservation for check in to be on August 14, 2026 and check out to be on August 17, 2026. We received a new confirmation from booking.com. When we arrived at the hotel on August 15, 2026, we were told that we did not have a reservation for that night that it was for August 16, 2026 for one night. I showed the desk clerk the confirmation I received from booking.com and he said that it didn't matter. So we ended up having to pay $294 for the added night. We were not happy about this AT ALL!! booking.com failed us immensely!! I feel that booking.com should reimburse us at least $200 of the $294. Probably won't use booking.com again and will not recommend it to anyone.

The breakfast was cereal 😞

Breakfast was eh ok. Was expecting better choices than just Continental. No decaf coffee.

Parking okay.

The back door was broken it was hanging on by 1 screw. I tried to call front desk and notify them of the damage and phone does not work. I did receive a message from the hotel asking how the stay was but they never responded. Do not waste your money on this hotel. We went down stairs for the free breakfast and ended up doing door dash because it was nothing hot some coffee, muffins and bagels. I saw Hilton and assumed it would be good quality. Let’s just say this hotel was NOT IT!!! I’m nervous to ever stay in another Hilton again!

Only one elevator was working

I did not like that. It was in front of smoke shop and it wasn’t that clean in the elevator/hallways and the elevator on one side was broken and the other one seemed like it was about to break.

Room

The AC in the room was a little noisy and the elevator was really slow

The pool was okay it needed cleaned and updated! The bubbles on the hot tub didn't work at all, sad. They did not come refresh our rooms at all. We had to ask for toilet paper and the lady that gave us some acted like we were a nuisance but 4 people 3 nights needed more that one and half rolls. Also our room only had one trash can.
