Great position but very surprised it wasn’t the standard we expected
Pros:

Position was excellent
Staff were friendly
We tried to telephone from the room for help but no one answered

Cons:

Lots of things in the bathroom needed a refurb sink, taps , flooring etc
At breakfast it needed more staff to keep filling up we had to ask for so much to be filled during our me others were also asking. Food cutlery bowls etc etc it needed staff to keep monitoring it all themselves
Coffee machine was not very efficient

Good hotel for attending shows
Pros:

Went to a show at City Hall so hotel was perfectly situated and walkable from the rail station. Was upgraded to a mezzanine - which sounded lovely but actually would have preferred a "regular" room - steep, creaky stairs up to the bed and bathroom was on ground floor! However, bed was super comfy and room was spotlessly clean.

Cons:

My personal pet hate is buffet breakfasts - the excuse to serve tepid food that has been hanging around - and am afraid that this was a classic example. Also don't like dipping a teabag into coffee machine hot water. I asked if I could have a pot of tea, to which I was told they didn't do that and didn't have any teapots!?!

Well worth the journey and an overall very good experience
Pros:

The hotel is truly charming and I loved the architecture and the history of the building. It was fun getting to know my way around and I am pleased that much of the charm of the building has been kept.
Location wise, it is perfectly placed in a good part of the city.

Cons:

The only small gripe is the discomfort of the sofa in my room.
Not comfortable at all

Would definitely return if attending an event in central Sheffield
Pros:

Location, breakfast, bed.
Parking bay outside the door to the hotel for dropping off cases before parking the car in another place

Cons:

Old TV with poor sound quality
Navigating the streets around the hotel - fear of being fined for breaching traffic zones ( cameras on bus gates )

Comfortable, welcoming and conveniently located
Pros:

Breakfast was great, fantastic quality and choice.
Location was great too, less.than 15 min walk to the station , and cl9se to the theatre

Lovely stay
Pros:

Location is excellent in middle of city centre. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast. Room was spatious and clean. We were upgraded to larger bed after no more appropriate twin rooms available.

Cons:

Some rooms have limited views ie room window or courtyard wall. On this visit, thankfully we had view out to courtyard on request.

Really good value hotel for a city centre location in a historical old school building.

The location is fabulous and the staff are really helpful and friendly

Cons:

I was on the 5th floor and near a boiler room which was a bit noisy. The bar food menu is a bit limited.
