Beautifully presented, decor was lovely, reception staff were charming and attentive, room was well appointed and very stylishly decorated with all the nice comfort touches. Great location right in the middle of vibrant Rye. We couldn’t have asked for more
Nothing
Location fantastic and the hotel is very nice
Breakfast was very poor for the price and the additional £50/night charge for a dog was extreme based on what you got for it. I did agree to it, so I can't or didn't complain.
Stylish and comfortable
Maybe the sitting areas downstairs could have more comfy chairs!
Very comfortable beds and pillows. Excellent breakfast. Lovely staff.
Rather a lot of noise outside idling engines and cars and vans being loaded. Doors slamming and loud talking. I imagine de rigging form the wedding so kept me awake until about 2am. Our room was Street facing (as requested) and happened to be very near the front door. Basically I think if the if the team could of considered more that people would be trying to sleep maybe that would of helped,
Lovely hotel. Oozing with character and very tastefully decorated. Quirky little staircases and corridors, very charming.
Cosy room and lovely breakfast, friendly and helpful staff.
The room was a little hot!
Superb freshly cooked breakfast. Excellent location.
We booked Sunday lunch. The ‘music’ was ‘beating’ out of a speaker nearby plus a screamy ‘singing’ voice, awful and stressful, takes away the feeling of peaceful conversation and relaxation, creates the opposite. We decided to leave, we had a lovely less expensive roast lunch at The Mermaid, no stress. Staff did offer to turn it down but we don’t like it at all.
The town. The hotel, staff, food, and the atmosphere.
Only a small complaint but the room was quite stuffy and no windows to allow for some fresh to circulate.
Location and the memory that our parents stayed here in 1957
All vey good
My room was beautiful and very luxurious. Rye is a pretty little town.
Nothing!!
Chambers petites mais sincèrement très très jolies
Rien
We have just returned from our son’s wedding at The George in Rye, and had the most fabulous time. It was a large wedding which took over the whole hotel, and from the minute we arrived the staff were amazing. It was such a warm and friendly atmosphere. The canapés, wedding breakfast and breakfast were all exceptional.
Anna Campanella, the wedding planner goes the extra mile to make everything just so, and greets everyone with warmth and great care. All the staff were so nice, efficient and friendly. The rooms are cosy and beautifully decorated. Rye is such a beautiful setting for a wedding, and the short walk to the Town Hall for the ceremony was lovely, and the return with the town crier leading the way, was an exceptional experience.
We can’t recommend it enough.
I really liked the atmosphere here — the venue is decorated beautifully and has a warm, inviting feel that makes it easy to settle in and enjoy yourself. The drinks were lovely and well-prepared, and the bar staff were very friendly and welcoming, which definitely added to the overall experience.
However, I was quite shocked when my scallop arrived. While it was nicely presented and tasted good, it was just a single scallop priced at £11, which felt excessive and a bit disappointing. It unfortunately took away from what was otherwise a really pleasant visit.
