Second time staying where trim hanging off wardrobem
Dirty rim of toilet
Waste pipe in shower blocked, on looking full of gunk and hair
Plug in sink didn't work
Drops of something on wall next to bed
Window only opened half an inch.
Needs a handyman to look at problems in room 66
Main house attractive ,staff helpful and friendly especially Stephanie
Room very small and stuffy.Bed small and lumpy.General state of decoration shabby ,evening meal very average and drinks expensive.
Not a lot
Our room still had a bin full from the previous people . Our evening meal was awful. Drinks prices are far too expensive i suppose they have you over a barrel staying there
The entrance was impressive as you drive in but it went downhill from there.
YOU DO NOT STAY IN THE MAIN BUILDING so the main photo is slightly misleading. It appears are in blocks of ground and first floor a bit like 'Butlins' . Their is no air con but you will have a fan. Corridor carpet had stains and the wallpaper was peeling off, it just all looked very tired. We upgraded for an extra £20, not sure it made any difference to be honest. The bathroom was modern but the bedroom itself seemed pretty tired. BREAKFAST in the main house. It was ok, coffee was awful from the one machine. Sausages and bacon seemed good but I wouldn't say the food was in abundance.
Beautiful location
The rooms were very hot and stuffy.
The staff did provide us with a fan
Superb setting
No air con in rooms
Gardens where nice
Room are like chalets a bit like butlins, menu was not great, we got a takeaway so we did not have to eat there. Pool is very small.
First time at New Place and we would return. There was plenty of free parking. The grounds are clean and beautiful. The room was small but adequate. We had dinner included which was some of the best food we’ve ever had. Breakfast was hot and plentiful. The pool and jacuzzi were a welcome part of our stay. We booked via Virgin Experience Days and felt it was great value for money. Service always felt welcoming. The only downside was the dogs… lots of them… and we are dog lovers! It sometimes felt like we were at a dog kennels rather than a beautiful woodland hotel. Some people left dogs in their room alone which led to inevitable non-stop barking, which continued late into the night. I was glad I brought along ear plugs! A dog from a neighbouring room was also allowed by their owner to go to the toilet right outside our room door. Plus there was a comical moment when a dog ran into the dining room during a blast of the zoomies! Apart from the dog issues, we would return for the fantastic grounds, welcoming staff and beautiful food. Hopefully next time the dog owners will be more responsible.
Stayed here for 4 nights the room was very hot we found a fan in the wardrobe but this did nothing air conditioning is definitely required. The whole time we were here the indoor stairwell and landing were never cleaned the same rubbish was on the stairs for the whole stay, the rooms were clean but they clearly do not do more then the rooms. Buffet Breakfast is ok we had to keep asking every day for items to be refilled even though there was enough staff to monitor the items. We eat here for dinner twice in the bar area which is in the lovely Manor House which does have lovely features but again cleaning was not great, though the food was very good better than breakfast. Such a shame as could be a lovely place to stay if a few tweaks are made.
Very beautiful and clean. Loved the grounds and being able to go for walks.
My pasta was overcooked, and for the price of our stay on top of the amount of money for the food, that was disappointing. But there was a wedding at the same time so no big deal!
came to the hotel for a family wedding. Summer, Emileigh and Kirsty were brilliant, they were very personable, funny and have a great sense of humour, deserve a gold star
