Fantastic stay

Pros:

Beautiful place with stunning gardens. The restaurant and bar, located in the Manor House, were simply breathtaking. I only wish I had more time to fully enjoy everything the property had to offer.

Beautiful oasis only 40 minutes from Southampton
Pros:

The Manor House is beautiful and the gardens are amazing. The food in the restaurant was excellent and the bedroom was modern and bright with plenty of plug sockets

Pros:

The staff were all really helpful, the breakfast was nice in the Manor House. We had a nice woodland walk and enjoyed a swim in the pool. Lots of free parking and the mews houses were good value

Wonderful staff
Pros:

Arrived late and had to leave early missing breakfast. However the lovely staff Emma and Emleigh provided with a small breakfast to take away. Very grateful. Thank you so much. Lovely staff and rooms

Good place to stay before or after a ferry crossing at Portsmouth
Pros:

We arrived late at the property at just after midnight having been delayed by Brittany ferries. The night porter was excellent and showed us to our room very promptly.

I’ve stayed here before. Has definitely declined

Pleasant hotel in a good location with certain issues
Pros:

We stayed here as a family as part of the Paultons Park package (which is great). The staff at the hotel are all very pleasant and amenable, willing to help where they can. However, one issue is I was almost scammed BEFORE I arrived by an email asking to confirm my booking and confirm with a credit card. When I was checking in, the person in front of me mentioned the same email scam. The receptionist responded “oh yes we were hacked and they’ve done this to all our reservations.” Now, if this was a known hack with the potential for monetary loss for customers, why wasn’t anyone warned?

Second issue was the main bar and understaffing/lack of food. The first evening we had to hunt a member of staff down for 5 minutes to order. Clear our own table of glasses and plates, and wipe it with napkins, however the staff were very pleasant! The second day for lunch we had some family over to see us, however there was no burgers, no fish, and no steak resulting in a very limited menu. Considering beef burgers are kept frozen, it is very surprising especially at such a traditionally busy time of year.

Otherwise the hotel is kept well, beautiful grounds and a good atmosphere.
