Wedding was lovely venue but ques at both bars were so slow as not enough staff working

Breakfast was real let down !! No hot plates for food , putting hot food onto cold plates is a no no for any establishment let alone a hotel .Fried eggs only bought out about 10 at a time which for a que of people waiting was no where near enough . By time first 6 people through eggs ran out and people had to wait for more eggs to be cooked and bought out while their hot food they had put on cold pkares went cold until next lot of eggs were brought out . No orange juice which again was not replenished quick enough

Fantastic location and beautiful surroundings / facilities. Basic breakfast - limited hot food
Pros:

The room was unbearably hot due to a very small opening window and being on 1st floor. We couldn’t sleep at all and had to prop the front door open to get some air flow. The room was beautiful but very uncomfortable

It is in a pleasant sprouting and nice lay out

Cons:

The Heating system was left on timer and the radiator was on full temperature setting which was on all night. The maintenance man could not turn it off so i had the room door wide open all night. There was a light in corridor which lit up the whole room so I was extremely hot and in almost daylight. I did not get any sleep which is the point of booking a room. I complained to the management who promised to get back to me but 3 days in and no phone call or email. No contact whatsoever except from the reception staff. I would not recommend staying here in the summer as they cannot turn off the heating system. Very disappointed in the whole experience and certainly should get a refund but that does not seem on their agenda.

I will always enjoy sitting on the terrace looking at the gardens

The main building is fabulous. The gardens are amazing. There is nothing better than sitting on the terrace looking over the gardens drinking a Hobgoblin Beer

Cons:

The hotels caters for big parties and for weddings The staff were mainly absolutely fantastic but at times we’re just inundated by sheer numbers
The bar staff and restaurant staff were all working extremely hard but at times just got snowed under
Management need to take a critical look at staffing levels particularly at busy times. Just hoping the existing staff can cope isn’t going to work

Very polite helpful staff. Hotel set in lovely grounds.

Cons:

Weak shower, with dated shower curtain. Chaotic breakfast. Having to ask for plates, cups and warm food (both mornings)
