Saunas and swimming pool
Quite dirty, areas need clean. Clanging facilities area not hygienic.
We enjoyed our stay and the property however initially we were put in the garden wing and couldn’t get internet. We were moved to the main house but charged for it very disappointing but the room was nice
As above having to be moved and charged for it
Great service
Good welcome. Comfortable room. Excellent breakfast.
The building is a bit of a maze and it can be quite a walk to your room.
Some of staff very helpful.
Lack of signage. Great difficulty locating room and lift.
Stayed here a number of times as it is very convenient for our purposes. The staff are friendly, there is a gym and small pool and the breakfasts are good. Parking on site is also a plus.
The bathroom was not as clean as I would have liked and expected from previous visits. The room was very cold and the heating was not working, despite us being told that it is old and will kick in eventually! Managed to get a portable heater in the end but it was a struggle.
Impressive period building in large grounds but with lots of add on buildings. Amazing value.
Think it used to be a corporate training centre. Sprawling and somewhat tired decor but clean and comfortable.
The location. The grounds. The swimming pool.
No extractor fan in bathroom.
Bed not very comfortable.
Barking dog in next room. Food not that special.
It’s a beautiful building with good facilities
The bathroom could have a little update
Breakfast was fantastic. Great range to eat and even though it wasn't part of our package, the evening meals were also very good value. The serving staff were very attentive and generally it was a lovely place to be with a fascinating history. The grounds were also nice to walk around.
We were lucky to be upgraded, so not sure what other rooms were like. Some of the new buildings added on to the original house looked ugly.
We were happy with all aspects of our stay. The facility were very good & the grounds were lovely to wash around.
We had a room in the garden wing which seemed to have been refurbished & was very clean & comfortable. We would definitely stay again.
The only criticism would be the changing room could be a bit bigger but not sure how that would be achieved.
We had 2 rooms booked as meeting with family & after reading some reviews we were a bit worried it wouldn’t meet our expectations. I must say our experience was very good. All the spa facilities were working even the jacuzzi. One of our rooms had breakfast & that was very good albeit could have been a little hotter. All staff that we encountered were very pleasant & helpful.
Breakfast items a bit cold - as always with buffets
I booked direct being told it was cheaper than Trivago and Booking.com - in fact I was charges £42 MORE ! by booking direct !!

Heat of breakfast buffet
The staff throughout our stay were brilliant - from check in to the restaraunt and bar, the staff were a credit to the venue, although young staff they were incredibly professional.
