L'accueil était très chaleureux et le personnel réactif.
Le Monsieur a vraiment fait l'extra mile.
Le petit déjeuner était exceptionnel. J'ai adoré les 6 sortes de thés bien rare même en 5*.
J'ai trouvé sympa de pouvoir faire du yoga même si je n'en ai pas profité.
La salle de jeux (billard/ping pong) est aussi appréciable.
Le jardin (botanique) est exceptionnel.
Le spa était complet. Comme il est privatisé, c'est limité en disponibilité.
Le personnel est adorable et les repas sont fabuleux que ce soit le petit déjeuner ou le dîner, tout est vraiment délicieux. Que ce soit à l’accueil, au restaurant, au spa, je n’ai pas testé le bar je ne bois pas d’alcool, mais tout le personnel est vraiment sympathique, impliqué et professionnel. J’ai adoré mon séjour je pense revenir avec ma fille. J’étais seule mais c’était super. Très reposant et bien situé, près de la ville où je suis allée à pied plusieurs fois, ce n’est pas loin même si la côte est plus dure en remontant qu’en partant :)

Food was plentiful and delicious. View from the room was amazing, covering both the sea and the hills, as well as the lush gardens. Games room was a nice facility. Swimming pools were used every day and very much appreciated!
Reception staff were friendly and helpful for the very most part, although a little cold on a few occasions.

Sfeer, grote kamers, zwembad, prachtige tuin en terras, uitstekend ontbijt en diner, fijne bar, aardig en zee behulpzaam personeel.
A warm welcome from the moment you arrive and friendly, happy staff throughout our stay. The room was beautiful, overlooking the wonderful gardens and hills. The rooms are turned down twice a day and are spacious and clean. Breakfast is delicious and service was superb. The bar staff were always friendly and attentive. It was wonderful to sit in such beautiful surroundings. Evening piano music and singer were fantastic. A 20 minute stroll into Funchal. We enjoyed a jeep safari, catamaran trip, levada walk and the cable car and gardens. All amazing and Rosie helped us to book everything and gave so much advice on places to go and things to see. We also took advantage of the couples spa morning. This was amazing value and the massage was fantastic! This was our first trip to Madeira and we will definitely come back and would happily stay back at this hotel. We’ve had an amazing week! Thank you so much.
Sehr hübsches Haus, ruhig gelegen, großes bequemes Bett, kurzer Weg in die Stadt oder zum Hafen, auch tolle Restaurants in der Nähe, keine Parkplatzprobleme (es gibt eine Garage und Plätze auf der Straße - alles kostenlos). Das Frühstück war absolut fantastisch, frische Säfte, frische Früchte und Eierspeisen a la carte. Und vor allem das freundliche Personal ist zu erwähnen.

Le personnel est très accueillant.
Il y a un parking sur place.
L’espace piscine est très agréable.
Chambre très spacieuse et très propre et literie confortable.
Le petit déjeuner est très bon et le restaurant également pour le dîner.
Il y a une navette qui permet d’aller dans le centre ville ( centre ville à 15 minutes à pied par une route très raide).
Location, events, service, amenities
This hotel was the perfect place for us to have some much needed R&R for 5 days. The Staff are so helpful and pleasant, the food is well presented and delicious in the restaurant. Breakfast has an excellent selection. It is about a 15 minute walk to the seafront and shops. It is downhill going but uphill on the return, which in the heat of the day can be hard work. There are plenty of taxis and tuk-tuks about to help get you from a to b if necessary. The Spa was easily accessible and had a nice selection of treatments. Beautiful rooms, very spacious and each has a balcony with table and chairs. A bottle of still and sparkling water is provided in the fridge, which is refilled FOC when empty. Large bathroom with all toiletries and towels Highly recommended
I travelled solo to this wonderful hotel and could not have felt more welcome. I had a huge room with a queen sized bed, sofa, and balcony. The staff (and the guests) were
all so lovely and I talked to so many people and never felt like I was ‘solo’. Having read the previous reviews I knew the hotel would be nice but I had 2 concerns… (1) I’d been too busy to book trips in advance and (2) I was worried the restaurant would be all fish and I don’t much like fish! Neither was a problem… firstly Rosie is the resident client relationship manager who promptly booked me a variety of levada walks which were all fab, and gave me ideas and instructions for anything else I wanted to do. Way easier than me pre planning from home. Secondly, the menu was à la carte and had a mix of fish, meat and veggie options. The food so delicious that by the end of the week I found myself ordering fish and enjoying it! Beware that with 3 courses every night you will put on weight even with all the hills to walk! I never return to a hotel or holiday destination because there are so many places to see in the world, but this hotel has broken the rule. The day I returned, I booked to go back next year with my son, and I cannot wait.

The hotel was an oasis of calm in the middle of the city, the gardens were beautiful and the rooms were amazing. The welcome we got from Sara completely changed our stay in Madeira, the best hotel we’ve stayed at for a long time.
