Erg aardig personeel en erg schoon. Ook genoten van de gratis jaccuzi. Ontbijt van de kaart was erg lekker met ruime keuze. Kortom, uitstekend verblijf.

Vriendelijk personeel. Mooie tuin. Ruime kamer. Op 1km van het centrum (wel berg op 😂).

An all round brilliant hotel! Staff were fantastic, especially the lovely restaurant servers and the reception staff were incredibly helpful. Also the food was so good. Breakfast choices were excellent (poached eggs were perfect). We had dinner in the restaurant twice and were not disappointed. The hotel is close to tonnes of other restaurants too so there's plenty of choice.

We have travelled widely over 46 years of married life but we both agree that this is the best hotel we have ever stayed at. As others have mentioned, the staff are exceptional, nothing is too much trouble even when flights were delayed due to adverse weather conditions, there was an air of calmness. Our room was lovely and beautifully cleaned every day. The food at the bar and restaurant were excellent. The lounge, overlooking the gorgeous garden was just stunning and an ideal place to sit peacefully with a book. All in all, we felt as though we had been given a huge 'hug' during our stay and returned home relaxed. We hope to revisit in the not too distant future.

The option for some refreshments on arrival in the room, the pool facilities, live piano on the evenings during happy hour, friendly and welcoming staff. Fantastic breakfast options! The tourist information guide Rosie gave us great advice as well!

A huge and beautifully furnished guest room with a spacious sitting area plus a generous balcony with far reaching views.

A pampering spa, a choice of two pools, a good gym, and a games room.

There's also an all day bar with an outdoor terrace, an elegant restaurant where I am offered the very finest breakfast to start my day in a relaxed atmosphere, or where I can dine at night in a stylish setting.

Beautifully maintained gardens to stroll around or relax in. An easy and short downhill walk to the chic shopping in and around the Plaza centre and the nearby Marina. A shuttle bus, if I'm feeling lazy. There's also a high quality laundry service.

A first class reception service, which along with the guest relations centre, are always on hand to deal with my every need.

From the moment I arrive here, until the day I depart, I am totally relaxed and completely cared for.

My wife and I have just returned from our 12 th or 13 th holiday at this amazing hotel. We visited the hotel on 5 occasions last year and have already booked several holidays for this year.
We always find it so relaxing with wonderful, friendly staff who go out of their way to ensure you have a great holiday. The rooms are a great size, with lovely balconies, overlooking the beautifully kept gardens. Like all areas of the hotel, the rooms are kept spotlessly clean by the diligent cleaning staff.

The whole hotel has such a lovely ambience, enabling you to feel so comfortable and at home.

The restaurant staff work tirelessly, constantly filling up the plentiful & varied breakfast buffet & you can also request hot food as part of the breakfast. The restaurant at night is also so lovely, and it is certainly fine dining. The tables are laid out beautifully with lovely cutlery & table linen. When we dined on Valentine’s night the staff had decorated the tables so nicely.

The is an excellent gym with all types of equipment, allowing you to have a good workout ( which is required after having indulged in the excellent food and wines!). We have never tasted a wine which was not excellent. There are also 2 swimming pools.

Many of the staff have worked at the hotel since it opened 27 years ago which we believe is testament to how pleasant it is to work there. All of the reception staff, restaurant staff, bar staff & cleaners etc are so helpful. Also Rosie in Guest Relations has a wealth of knowledge of the Island and advises on trips to do, checking bus trips timetables, booking taxis etc. Nothing is ever too much trouble for her.

My wife had a massage from Carla in the Spa and felt so good and ‘chilled’ afterwards.

This beautiful 42 room, 5 star hotel is set in over 2 acres of lovingly maintained gardens, in one of the city's nicest residential neighbourhoods.

Funchal's vibrant city centre however is just a fifteen minute downhill walk from the hotel, which also provides a shuttle bus service for any less active guests.

The property is totally self contained, offering two swimming pools, a gym, an excellent spa, and games room. For those arriving by car there is also an underground car park.

There is a relaxing all day bar, plus an elegant restaurant which serves quite exceptional breakfast choices, of both cold buffet and cooked a la carte.

Sparkling wine is freely available, for those guests wishing to get their days off to a lively start.

Dinner is stylishly served here daily from 7.00pm.

Guest rooms are vast and the hotel's common parts are all spacious, immaculately maintained, and flooded with light.

Finally, the standards of service.

Staff throughout are quite exceptionally helpful and kind. The reception is truly world class, and in conjunction with the guest relations desk, is constantly on hand to provide such assistance and support as may be required.

The hospitality here is truly unmatched.

We have just returned from a 9 night stay at this hotel. We booked half board. The hotel exceeded all our expectations. All the staff were friendly and the food was superb both in its quality and presentation. We also enjoyed lunch on a few occasions and found it to be the same. It’s not a hotel with lively nightlife but this was exactly what we wanted. We would not hesitate to return here.
It’s a steep walk down and back to Funchal but not as bad as we thought it would be. The courtesy bus is good and a taxi if needed just 6 euros approx each way

Lovely relaxed ambience with two, smallish, pools and gardens. Lovely terrace and bar with helpful and friendly staff. Great breakfast, food in bar very good, restaurant pricey but excellent food. Lots of food options in town a 15-20 minute walk away plus some decent local bars. Great rooms , excellent shower and lots of space. Helpful and informative staff for booking walks or self guided.

This is a first class hotel. Food and surroundings are very fitting with Madeira .Rooms are big and nothing is too much trouble for the lovely staff.
