lovely friendy staff, clean room, food was amazing , sevice was second to none
We stayed here on a Travelzoo deal and were very happy with the Hotel, especially the friendly, professional staff team.
The Hotel is quite individualistic, an old, historic building and, while the rooms aren't the most modern, ours was clean, spacious and well set out. There aren't any lifts in such an old building but stair access was good.
Food is very much Pub style but each dish was individually prepared. No sign of reheating mass produced food here.
The pool and jacuzzi are a bonus but the staff is this Hotel's best feature.
We stayed in one of the cabins which was beautiful, well equipped, spotlessly clean and comfortable. The hot tub was lovely.
Went last week with johnsons coaches and was a lovely place to stay, food was amazing, the pub was lovely & cosey staff very welcoming especially the lovely lady on reception so helpful.
It was well situated for the Lake District, the staff were friendly & helpful. Breakfast was varied & plenty making it goid value for money.
The Room was a bit dismal & dark, did not like the four poster bed & found it difficult with the shower being over the very large bath
The hotel is right on the edge of the bottom of lake Windermere, on the river Leven. It is 1.2 miles to the boat trip Lakeside dock and the railway station therein. The hotel was fabulous. I have read some of the reviews of the place and yes, the carpets are very old, but so what?! The polish receptionist was funny and welcoming. The Scottish barman was full of excellent banter and a really good laugh. The blond fella who served our dinner, which was excellent, was attentive and very friendly. The lady serving breakfast was similarly helpful, preparing me a special vegan dish which was lovely. The staff really were 10/10. They made the trip. The room has a 4 poster and was very big, with a tremendous shower!! The evening meal was wonderful. Four different vegan options, and him indoors had a Sunday dinner which he loved, see pics. The vegan starter was also an exceptionally tasty dish. Could not recommend highly enough. And there’s a pool table! I got beat 6-4 but it was a great laugh. A very nice trip.
Was very good. Excellent and good value for money. Menu a bit restricted but food very good
Staff could have been a bit friendlier ... specially morning breakfast staff and receprionist. Dont like self service breakfast. Tabke service is much nicer. Small games room good but in need of some TLC.
Easy to find good amount of parking felt very homely
Bed room was quite warm extract noise from the kitchen
Lovely place. Ideal location. Staff are so nice an accommodating.
Highly recommend.
Nothing. Everything was great
The attention from the staff they couldn't do enough for me and my family. Exceptional experience. I will definitely return to stay again. A stand out team member was Kevin who made my seven year old nephew's stay amazing! Top marks 👍
Nothing it was awesome
Lovely location close to bus stops so we didn’t drive anywhere. Short walk through countryside to Lake Windermere
The location was brilliant. There is a about a mile walk to lakeside or you can catch a bus to Windermere. The bus stops are right outside the hotel.
The hotel is a bit dated and needs a little TLC but it has wonderful character. The staff are really helpful and friendly. The food in the bar is brilliant. I had the beef and Guiness pie and my fiance had the burger. Really good portion sizes and it was piping hot.
The room was amazing, we had a 4 poster bed, amazing views and decent size bathroom. The only downfall was that the jets in the jacuzzi bath wasnt working. The poster bed was a bit dusty and a few cobwebs and the carpet by the windows were a worn and torn but it was such a lovely room we had never stayed in 4 poster bedroom before so it was a lovely experience.
The pool and the jacuzzi was very relaxing after a day of walking.
I felt the staff were a bit unprofessional at times. The receptionist would be eating at the desk and talking to you with her mouth full.
Great location cabin was lovely
Outside furniture could do with clean and cushions to sit on, dog charge expensive
