The location was perfect - - close enough to walk to the business district but not in the middle of it. Also close to the beaches and historical sites. Also, the pool and hottub were lovely and the dock was adjacent to the pool, so lake swimming was easy.

Soggiorno davvero piacevole, ci tornerei volentieri. Assolutamente consigliato!

I was going to email the hotel directly and let them know about the experience we had again at Hotel Continental but decided to share it with everyone on Trip Advisor as this hotel is just the best!

From the minute we arrived, the lovely welcome, to the glorious flowers in the room, the stunning location, the friendly and efficient staff and the wonderful meals, we cannot fault the hotel. Thank you so much. Giovanni and his team do the absolute best to make your stay so enjoyable. I would like to make a huge shoutout to Masha. She is an absolute dream and was so quick and efficient at serving drinks! We can’t wait to return.

Absolutely most amazing experience. Everything was just exceptional from the staff to the location to the facilities. The rooms were so beautiful and clean. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Just returned from our Great Rail Journeys holiday to Sirmione, Lake Garda. (Holiday called ‘First Class Lake Garda’. ) Fantastic week! Lovely hotel, great staff and lovely meals.
Good balance of days off and days with excursions although a shame one of the excursions was on the last day when many people would have preferred to have a relaxing day by the pool.
Enjoyed the excursions overall although found them a little too long (2 hours in the heat!) Surprised they took place over lunch time. Also, far too much spare time after the tour in Verona before we went to an Agriturismo for dinner. Made it too long a day for most people- we should have had dinner back at the hotel.
GRJ very good - Only criticism i would have of them is that there wasn’t any information given about places to visit nearby eg pretty lakeside towns worth a boat trip. Also, very disappointed not to have been able to go inside St Mark’s Basilica in Venice. Full due to all the places having been pre-booked. I felt we should have been told about the need to book beforehand.
All in all, fantastic hotel and great holiday. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend GRJ (Classic).

We enjoyed every second of our week-long stay and can't wait to return.

Firstly, the staff are a real credit to the hotel. Every single person we encountered was polite, kind and genuinely helpful. We felt that everyone went out of their way to make us feel welcome and well looked after. The restaurant team, in particular, were exceptional, and the service we received at every meal was outstanding.

The food was excellent throughout our stay. The evening meal consists of five courses: a salad bar, starter, pasta course, main course and dessert. There is a standard menu available every evening with around three choices for each course, alongside a daily specials menu offering two additional options per course. There is also a grill menu every night, including fillet steak, rump steak and chicken. Every meal we had was delicious, and on the one occasion my husband (who is quite a fussy eater) didn't fancy any of the starters, the staff were more than happy to offer alternatives that weren't on the menu. Dining on the terrace overlooking the lake as the sun sets made every evening even more special.

Our room was lovely. We stayed in a side-facing room with partial lake views, which was perfect. Housekeeping was impeccable, with the room serviced twice a day, fresh bath and beach towels replaced daily, and a huge, comfortable bed.

The walk into beautiful Sirmione takes less than five minutes. We loved wandering into town each morning for a coffee by the lake, and although we ate out a couple of evenings, we actually preferred dining at the hotel. Just a warning, we did get caught out by a bit of a tourist trap one night—a restaurant with stunning lake views that drew us in with the sunset. Unfortunately, it was overcrowded, the food and service were average, and it was a disappointing experience. A quick look at the reviews beforehand would probably have saved us!

The pool area is spotless and well maintained, with plenty of sun loungers available at all times. We especially enjoyed the heated thermal pool, and the jetty provides easy access for swimming in the lake. The pool bar staff were fantastic and couldn't do enough for guests. You can order drinks directly from your sun lounger, and even if you walk up to the bar yourself, they'll insist on bringing your drinks out to you.

Overall, we had an amazing holiday and genuinely didn't want to come home. We left feeling completely relaxed, incredibly well looked after, and already looking forward to returning. The service throughout our stay was exceptional and made all the difference.

My only very minor criticism is that the hotel doesn't provide a complimentary bottle of water in the room each day. It's only a small point, and we certainly wouldn't expect unlimited free water, but given the standard and price of the hotel—which is absolutely worth every penny—and the summer temperatures, one complimentary bottle each day would be a thoughtful touch.

We had a wonderful two night stay here in July. The standard partial lake view room (204) was very spacious and offered a great view from the balcony overlooking the hotel's pools with the town castle visable in the distance. The location is perfect in a quiet waterside spot yet just an easy 5 minute walk into the town centre where the ferry port is located for trips to the rest of Lake Garda. The lakeside terrace and pools had plenty of sunloungers available throughout the day offering great spots to relax or even take a dip in the lake. 100% recommend staying here if visiting Sirmione.
