Old and dated look. Housekeeping will still knock even though you don’t want to be disturbed. Very little English spoken. Hard to communicate.
The staff at the reception was extremely rude and bad, and had no clear instructions from the management. Everyone had different thoughts and no one had clear answer to anything. A lot of attitude.
Great selection, fresh and well presented.
We were absolutely delighted with our stay. The accommodation was spacious and comfortable, with cozy beds and a pleasant atmosphere. Room maintenance was excellent. A special commendation goes to the housekeeper on the 31st floor, who kindly brought us a large clothes rack for drying our garments and was attentive to our needs every day. We would also like to sincerely thank the courteous receptionist, Connor, who arranged a complimentary late check-out for us. All praise to the hotel — we will definitely return!

Very good location, breakfast was great with many options to eat, the staff was really helpful , especially Connor who answered all of our questions and helped us with our late check out. Also he organized a birthday surprise for my son, which it made our stay very special.

This was our first trip to China and the Westin Tianhe was our abode for a few days. The hotel is centrally located with easy access to Linhe west / Linhexi metro as well as a few small malls around for food. This is the heart of the business district and also convenient for access to some tourist attractions. The rooms are huge and spacious, a stark contrast to Hong Kong where things are generally cramped for space.
The breakfast spread is fairly comprehensive, as you'd expect from a Marriott hotel, with a mix of local and international options. The bakery section in particular is outstanding - croissants, egg tarts, danish's et al. But it could do with more options in terms of cheese, cold cuts and fruits.
The service is efficient but transactional and lacking a bit of warmth, something we felt while checking in. But I guess that's also reflective of the fact that it's primarily a business hotel. The wifi was a bit iffy at times, which was strange considering this is primarily a business hotel in the heart of the business district. While the hotel is conveniently located, there's not much around in terms of sight seeing and its primarily surrounded by corporate offices.
While this is a no-smoking hotel, we noticed one person smoking in the lobby in full view of the reception and concierge, flicking the ash from the cigarette in the lobby as he walked out and then throwing the cigarette stub in the driveway right outside the entrance to the hotel lobby. While this isn't the hotel's fault, one would expect the staff to step in and strictly enforce the no-smoking rule. This solitary incident notwithstanding, we had a pleasant stay and would certainly recommend the hotel for a comfortable stay.
