Plaza Grande Hotel

Amazing experience staying at hotel plaza grande. We were there for 3 nights and got upgraded to the Presidential Suite which was pretty awesome. The location, service and amenities at this hotel just can’t be beat. You are right on the Plaza with a direct view of the palace including all the ceremonies which can be seen from your balcony. The restaurant had some incredible local dishes and is very highly rated and the staff were so welcoming for our first trip to Ecuador. Highly recommend!!

I had a tremendous stay at this Hotel. The service was impeccable. The Bellhop and concierge was awesome. David the bellman provided great service. The attention to detail and concern for your well being was top notch. The Restaurant team was excellent as well Sebation provided great service. All the restaurant staff was great. I can not say enough about the treatment at this Hotel.

An incredible welcome after a 12 hour travel day. Every staff member is helpful and friendly. Lovely breakfast included. We stayed in the Presidential Suite with three balconies on the Square - a special experience.

This hotel has everything: location, colonial charm, views, the most attentive and friendly staff (particularly Vinicio and Alexander), a level of service that goes way beyond the average and opulent rooms and amenities. I can't recommend this hotel highly enough. Pure class in Quito.

The Plaza grande hotel is in an ideal location to visit the historic center of Quito. It is a beautiful hotel with an amazing staff.Mauricio, Alexander, and everyone we encountered were kind, friendly, and very helpful. They helped us with tour guides, Restaurant reservations, and more, making our trip easier and more fun. Our meals at the Plaza grande Café and La Vid restaurant next-door were outstanding. If we are lucky enough to return to Quito, we will stay at the Plaza Grande!

This is the grandest hotel in Quito. Everywhere you look is beauty and class. The service was impeccable. Will definitely stay here upon return to Quito

I love Old Town and the Grande Plaza is a steady heartbeat of its romance and authenticity. The endless cups of café con leche by the window overlooking the plaza served by the friendliest of staff was a perfect way to begin our days. The craft cocktails and spotless bedding welcomed us home. We slept with the windows open and were always astounded by the silence, even in the heart of a big city! As the oldest hotel in Quito, expect a softness that will alert your senses to a true experience!

Views of the plaza both during the day and at night were worth the extra cost.

We had a truly wonderful stay at Hotel Plaza Grande. The location in the heart of Quito’s historic centre is simply unbeatable — stepping out directly onto Plaza Grande made exploring the city’s churches, museums, and colonial streets incredibly easy and atmospheric.

What made the experience especially memorable was the warmth and professionalism of the staff. Every member of the team made us feel genuinely welcome and went out of their way to assist with tours, recommendations, transport, and local advice. Service throughout the hotel was polished yet personal.

Our suite was elegant, spacious, and beautifully maintained, combining historic character with modern comfort. After busy days exploring Quito, it was a pleasure to return to such a calm and refined environment.

Breakfasts were excellent, and we particularly appreciated the sense of history and grandeur throughout the building itself. Staying here felt like being part of old Quito rather than simply visiting it.

A special thank you to the concierge and front desk teams for organising everything so smoothly during our stay. We would gladly return and highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a luxurious and authentic experience in Quito.

Beautiful hotel and excellent service

This was quite simply my best hotel stay anywhere. Although my friend and I arrived at this handsome historic hotel around midnight, we were greeted cordially with hot towels and glasses of fresh-squeezed juice and escorted to our room, which was handsomely decorated in traditional style. The beds were comfortable, everything in the room and bath worked perfectly, and the location on one of Quito's main squares put the city's baroque churches and best restaurants an easy walk away. Although the included fresh-cooked breakfast was delicious, for lunch and dinner we found the food better at nearby cafes.

This hotel is THE only place to stay in Quito! The location is outstanding, the staff go above and beyond to make your stay memorable. The food in the restaurants are 5 star…! Rooms are spacious, clean and amenities included are first class ! I would give our overall experience 10 stars, if possible!!!!

Perfect location in the main square. Large room either a view. Amazing staff. The restaurant of the hotel is also practical and serve local food with enthusiasm.

Great location, amazingly nice staff, the breakfast had very large portions and was tasty. Great views from the balcony. Good place to stay between going to the Galapagos.
