I've always enjoyed staying at the Hampton Inn..been staying there for years..unfortunately, my first floor room that I always get, was switched to the second floor (I have MS), but I was near the elevator so it was ok..Will be returning next month and, hopefully, I can get the room I always get near the back door...
This is a beautiful hotel with modern amenities. I also appreciated having coffee available at all times. The room was clean and beautiful. The breakfast offerings were plentiful.
When we first checked in, I said, "Hello, we are the XXXXXs." The receptionist response was, "So." I responded that we had a reservation. I'm afraid that I expected a more courteous greeting.
Rooms, beds, showers were great! Breakfast included hot and cold foods, juices and pastries, plus much more. The afternoon had fresh baked cookies available! The young lady staffing the breakfast area made sure everything was replenished and available. She appeared to take great pride in her job.
Really nothing, but the staff could have been more friendly. When checking out, no one asked how our stay was, which we found to be odd.
Location of the Hampton Inn was good for me. Food for breakfast was what I expected - fair

Eggs!! Shower Head !! And the price was way over priced!! Because of price will not return to any Hampton Inn ever !!

The train going through three separate times during the night and early morning hours blasting its horn.
The air-conditioning in the room is the type it goes on and off constantly all night long.
Near midnight and 1 AM guests entering their rooms and slamming the doors.
The price of over $400 for one night in which I actually never slept because of all these times being woken up is really an atrocious amount of money.

Our room was clean, comfortable and modern.
The floor and carpet felt slightly sticky.
The room was very quiet and comfortable, and the staff was very nice and helpful. The free breakfast was great - it was just a small-ish buffet but there was still a good selection of options available, and the dining area off the lobby was pleasant. I was also happy to be able to have my cat there - there was an extra charge, which I expected, but it was not exorbitant. I stayed at the Hampton in Kingston while participating in a workshop at the Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, and the location made the commute back and forth very manageable.
The only minor annoyance was the TV in my room - I could not figure out how to navigate the various functions on the screen to find programs I like. It wasn't a huge problem since I don't really watch much TV, and I had books I could read instead, but perhaps an instruction manual would be helpful to have.
Comfortable and clean property! Easy location off of the highway. Rooms were well stocked.
