The location and the design of the room

Cons:

The breakfast needs some improvement in terms of variety by adding scrambled eggs, omelet and cold cuts.
The AC In the room was not performing well making challenging the night sleep.

L’ unica cosa che mi ha delusa tanto è stato il massaggio troppo ma davvero troppo soft sembravano carezze i vari passaggi il costo non valeva la prestazione!!!! Mi è dispiaciuto perché avevo bisogno davvero di un bel massaggio !!!! Vabbè!!!!! magari la px volta nn farò il massaggio 🤔

The second room’s AC was broken (it was 95). They couldn’t refund us because we booked through booking.com -

Beautiful and so romantic. Rooms look so cool and are built in caves. Staff wasn't super friendly.
Pros:

Some of the rooms were extremely hot. the AC didn't work in one of our rooms and the staff wouldn't do anything to help and just said its summer so expect to be hot.

Cons:

One of the staff members. You have to pay for the pool. And we were all 18 except for one under 18 and they couldn't swim with the group.

A truly unique and unforgettable stay that perfectly captured the magic of Matera.
Pros:

Our stay at Locanda di San Martino was one of the highlights of our visit to Matera.

Everything was seamless from the moment we arrived. We organised with the hotel the shuttle bus to pick us up from Parcheggio Damasco with a simple phone call, and the service was excellent. The transfer was convenient and stress-free, and the staff were friendly, welcoming and happy to help.

We stayed in a room located in a separate building, about a 300-metre walk from the main hotel. Rather than seeing this as a drawback, we absolutely loved it. It felt like we had our own private little corner of Matera, complete with a lovely patio and breathtaking views over the ancient stone city. The short walk back to the main hotel each morning for breakfast only added to the authentic experience.

The breakfast was delicious, with a wonderful variety of fresh local produce, pastries and excellent coffee, providing the perfect start to each day.

One of the highlights of our stay was the spa. We treated ourselves to a couples massage, followed by time in the thermal baths. It was the perfect way to unwind after spending hours exploring the beautiful streets and steps of Matera. The experience was reasonably priced and added an extra touch of luxury to our stay.

The location is exceptional, right in the heart of the Sassi, making it easy to wander through this incredible World Heritage city.

We highly recommend Locanda di San Martino to anyone visiting Matera. Between the unique accommodation, outstanding location, relaxing spa and genuinely warm hospitality, it was an unforgettable stay. We would happily return.

Muy buena ubicación
Pros:

Alojamiento en el propio sassi de Matera. No es un hotel al uso, se accede a las habitaciones por fuera del edificio principal dode está la recepción, desayuno y termas. La habitación amplia, con ducha y minibar.
El desyuno perfecto, con bollería, fruta, todo tipo de quesos, yogures,...
El parking hay que reservar con antelación el que indican ellos, Garage Damasco, pues tienen pocas plazas.

Cons:

El aire acondicionado difícil de configurar y batante ruidoso.
No pudimos probar las termas al viajar con niño de 13 años y no eran permitido menores de 18 años. Además tiene coste de 25€.

En 2 habitaciones distintas. En ninguna de las dos funcionaba el aire. El calor era insoportable. Para la tarifa que se paga esto no debería suceder.
