The SORA pop up takeover at Malmaison Brighton runs from 20 May to 31 August, delivering an immersive Japanese dining experience overlooking Brighton Marina. The menu features exclusive robatayaki dishes, sushi, sharing plates and signature cocktails. Breakfast rates include familiar favourites with a Japanese twist, while dinner inclusive stays offer the Taste of Sora five course sharing experience – a refined yet relaxed option for both casual dining and special occasions.Inclusions only apply for adults. Children’s Breakfast is not included in the advertised rates and the charges are as follows directly to the hotel: 0-4 years old – Breakfast Complimentary/5- 11 years old – Breakfast charged at 50% full price/ 12 and over breakfast charged at full adult price. Kids Dinner Menu also available.
Please note that extra beds and cots must be confirmed with the hotel prior to arrival, customers will be required to settle children's extra bed charges (GBP 30 per night) directly with the hotel.
There is free parking at the Marina multi-storey car park (BN2 5WA), which is only 3 minutes away from the hotel on foot. This is owned and operated by Brighton Marina. You won't need a ticket and please ignore the 4 hour max. stay signs, as this no longer applies. If you park on level 6 there is a foot bridge leading on to the boardwalk, which will provide easy access to the hotel. If you are staying with us over the weekend, please do not park on level 8 & 9 due to Sunday car boot sale.

The room and bathroom and beds were very comfortable.
Continental breakfast was very good, great yogurt, fruit and pastries etc

As with most hotels there were very large pillows which doesn't suit everyone - would be great to give people a choice of one thick and one thin.
The decor in the room was quite strange visually and conceptually - breeze block wallpaper?
The cooked breakfasts were poor - dry and over cooked.
Dinner in SoRa Meg was unbelievable gave the best recommendations and really looked after us service impeccable! Great food would come Back for sure!
We had a delicious meal in Sora! Meg who served us was so helpful and gave us great recommendations on what to have. The cocktail were delicious. It is definitely worth a visit!

rooms were small, ill equiped, staff inexperienced and too young/casual for Hotel type. there were a couple of staff members that were polite and pleasant and knew their jobs.
I thought it was overpriced. did not match our previous experience 6 years ago.

The Sora pop up is a great experience, would thoroughly recommend it.

Spacious, modern room and bathroom. All perfectly clean and fresh.
We had booked requesting a quiet room as my son had exams the next morning but we were put in a room above a wedding party who then spilled out onto a terrace outside and the noise was unescapable even with the windows closed on a hot summer's evening. It's great that there is somewhere to park but be warned it's a bit wild in the rain carrying bags across the wooden walkway / bridge.
Amazing reception staff. Bedding was crisp and clean.
Room was soulless with stains on the seating area and a patch of threadbare carpet. Only one lift working, hence long wait for lift.

The MalMaison is a modern and stylish hotel located on Mermaids Walk that sits above the restaurants within Brighton Marina which overlooks the elegant Marina, that has thousands of boats from luxury yachts to private/commercial vessels of many different sizes and charter fishing boats trips, plus much much more..
The Hotel
The hotel has 4 floors, G,1,2,3 which spreads along the length of the Marina with 2 entrances into the hotel via the main road.. The Strand, just opposite the harvester and the 2nd via Mermaids walk. Reception is located on the 2nd floor.
Where you’ll be welcomed by professional and friendly staff. There is a very comfortable seating area by reception where you can relax, if checking is busy.
The 2nd floor is where you will find, the Restaurant, Bar, Seating area both inside and outside, Conference Suites, Washrooms, Guest Services.
Free Parking -(Level 6)
There is plenty of parking spaces within the Multi Store Carpark. There is FREE parking for Hotel Guests on LEVEL 6, should you park on any other levels than level 6 then this will be chargeable via the pay machines..
Please do take note of the height restrictions within the carpark.
Restaurant & Bar
The restaurant is very elegant with a calming environment, where you can sit in comfort and talk around the table with your group without having the need to shout.
The menu has a great selection of premier quality food, that’s delivered and prepared daily and cooked to your requirements.
The restaurant is also where you will take breakfast. Where you will find everything you can imagine wanting to eat for breakfast it’s there.
The Bar
The bar is located between Reception and the restaurant where you will find a wide range of spirits, cocktails, beers, and soft drink.. there is plenty of seating inside and out on the Terrace.
Bedrooms
There are a number of levels of rooms available to meet all budgets. From a standard inland room to Deluxe Seaview rooms with balconies or tryout one of the amazing stylish themed suites.. that have been style with an Ibiza theme..!!! “Ibiza by day” & “Ibiza by night”
which ever room you select, you’re won’t be disappointed as all rooms have been recently refurbished, modern style and to the highest standards.
I highly recommend you in investing that little bit more on your room..
Treat yourself and book a Seaview Room with balcony. The views overlooking the Marina is priceless.
Staff & Cleanliness
I’ve stayed at the MalMaison for many years and I have to say, I’ve never been disappointed. All staff members from reception, the cleaners, the bar& restaurant staff are super friendly, very professional and make you feel important. They take away any issue you have and make it theirs, so you can relax and enjoy your stay.
I do have the point out 2 amazing staff members, who always seems to know what you need before you tell them, theirtheir professionalism in understanding their guests, is totally amazing, excellent customer services. These staff should be rewarded for what they do for MalMaison..

On visit to bar and Restaurant i ordered drinks. Service charge added without knowing until I checked my bill. There may be a notice but I couldn't see it. Ordered a 2nd round of drinks but told bar tender to remove the SC. He did. Then at 7:30 I was taken into the restaurant? At 7:35 we were escorted back out as it was now closed? 7:30. Back in the bar i was told I could order food to have in there? Not happy. Also only Sushi? I wanted a proper meal. Very disappointed and extremely poor service.
Poor experience.
