Was disappointed that I contacted the hotel as I left my electric toothbrush behind.
Offered to pay for postage but email was ignored

The place is absolutely filthy. Carpet in bedroom filthy. Damp walls with paper peeling off. No food available apart from breakfast. Very limited car parking and no allocated disabled space
This really is a very sad neglected hotel. As a disabled person, I was told they would waive the £9 daily parking fee for guests, but it was a 1st come 1st served basis with no disabled parking. We arrived to a very odd reception layout, and given the key to our room. Oh dear! It really was dreadful. Damp walls with paint hanging off. Filthy cushions on the bed. Dirty walls, dirty window frames, stained carpet.
I knew the hotel was full, so no point in asking to change rooms!
I’d read that snacks, cream teas etc were available in the bar in the afternoons evening. We asked about food and were told none available.
On returning back to the room, we did sleep well in a comfy bed. My one point.
Breakfast was laid out in a total help yourself system. I had croissants and a cup of tea. We hadn’t dared use the kettle in the room!
We left feeling disappointed and slightly grubby.
Oh, and the toilet flush broke in the morning 😄

Great location close to everything
Some parts a little outdated now
Location is perfect, right next to Torre Abbey park. Staff were friendly and helpful, rooms were clean. From a cost perspective, it was a value hotel.
As with a lot of the big hotels in Torquay it was a little tired. Outdoor pool was closed (I did know about that at the time of booking), indoor pool was a little tired. Breakfast wasn’t the best compared to other hotels but was adequate.
The bed was comfy and the room was really clean. Reception staff were friendly. The swimming pool and jacuzzi were clean and, although small, perfectly fine.
Small things like plugs nowhere near bedside tables and only one window opening in the room were a little irritating. It was a shame that the outdoor pool was not being used.

Really liked the swimming pool and jacuzzi. Breakfast buffet good. Room pleasant and comfortable and it had a bath. Really great location.
Staff so friendly and indoor pool was ace
Breakfast was the nicest thing about this hotel! It would benefit from some basic training of what tableware is for the waitressing staff such as; what a saucer is, what napkins and tea bags are and other basic understandings would be helpful. Room was comfortable and clean but don’t expect more. Overall it was a very tired looking hotel and bar pretty sad. Seemed like a cross between a canteen with slightly more than upgrading from plastic patio furniture and an old people’s care home sitting room. The only thing missing was the smell of cabbage and people in general. No atmosphere! Front desk when we arrived was friendly and helpful, evening guy who seemed to have dual role as security not so much. I felt like an absconded from a care home who was left in the doorstep waiting to get let back in after 9pm.
Very tired, no atmosphere and they really need to make the choice between having a welcoming bar or no bar as what they have is very off putting. Also no snacks to purchase out of hours. A simple tuck shop or vending machine would be better than nothing as there were no shops open close by on the way back to the hotel either. Could even have snacks and bar drinks in cans or bottles in a vending machine rather than having a dis functioning bar.
