Wonderful hotel near the Spanish Steps
Pros:

My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Romanico Palace. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and went the extra mile to provide good service. The hotel is charmingly decorated with paintings and marble floors throughout. The breakfast was very good and had an extensive selection. We loved that the location was in a less touristy area but still close to many sites. We would definitely stay again at this hotel!

Exceptionally poor maintenance
Pros:

Location, rooftop bar and breakfast.

Cons:

Pool closed to children but no warning when booking. Rooms are very noisy, you can hear everything from the street, the elevators roaring up and down and even the water running. The elevators are bad, make you wait forever. Sticker in elevator shows last maintenance in 2022. Hairdryer clogged with dust. Stairs which are also for emergency use partially blocked by forniture. The gym is claustrophobic, with machines a few centimeters from each other and very low ceiling. Technogym equipment needs maintenance and is useless as it is. Reception doesn't greet you when walking in and out. Shower keeps changing temperature. Insufficient closets for clothes.

Great hotel
Pros:

This hotel has great character. The room was quirky and made us feel like we were experiencing something unique. The front desk staff was helpful and the breakfast was very nice.

Large rooms and friendly staff
Pros:

The room was large and the bathroom was very nice as well. The staff was extremely friendly and did a great job giving restaurant recommendations. The rooftop bar and breakfast buffet are not to be missed.

Pros:

I liked the location and the fact that my room was almost completely soundproof. Also the bathroom was amazing! And the bed super comfy.

L'accueil sans conseil particulier, pas de proposition de carte de la ville et SURTOUT ☝🏼 le non accès à la piscine librement : c'est payant et interdit aux mineurs! Ce n'est pas précisé du Booking....nous avions choisi spécialement cet hôtel pour nous rafraîchir en ces journées chaudes...si nous avions su nous aurions choisi un hôtel + central et sans piscine!
Assez bruyant également ! Chambre sur les voies passantes...et une terrasse en face avec un spectacle musical durant 1 soirée sur les 3 passées dans cet établissement. Dommage...

Enjoyable stay from good hotel with very efficient and friendly staff.
Pros:

Excellent service from friendly staff and excellent location for Borghese and north east Rome sites. Good rooftop bar and breakfast.

Cons:

Only minor issue was bathroom layout as large sink took up most of the counter top space so little room to put toiletries.

Great place to stay
Pros:

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our 5 day trip to Rome and staying in the Hotel Romanico Palace. It was in a good location with plenty of good restaurants within easy walking distance. Something that we had missed when booking, is that there is no restaurant in the hotel. Good breakfast and a couple of bars which served snacks though. The roof top bar had stunning views and occasional entertainment. Prices were a bit on the high side, but it was worth it to look out on to the view.
The hotel is plush and comfortable; the room was clean and a good size. One thing, for me, that would have been good to have, was a kettle and facilities to make a cuppa! Maybe other rooms have this. The shower was great - much needed for a hot holiday!
The best thing about the hotel was the staff - they were amazing. Friendly, helpful and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble and they were able to help us with anything we needed.
Getting into the centre of Rome was relatively straightforward - taxis were available very quickly, and local buses were easy to navigate. And, we did a lot of walking..... Point to note is that although infomation says that you need to buy a ticket before getting on a local bus is out of date now - you just jump on, tap your card on the machine and off you go. At the time we went (June 2026) it cost about 1.50 euros (around £1.30) - amazing!
