Dinner service could have been better. Wrong orders taken - 2 starters ordered and only 1 provided; had to wait some time for the 2nd meal to arrive after notifying the staff of the mistake. Had to ask for more water no auto refills.
Loved the historic building and grounds
Views and comfortable rooms. Lovely swimming pool
Part of the road to the hotel was quite bumpy and narrow in places
Last minute booking after a Booking.com double booking, lovely stylish hotel comfortable rooms in a stunninglocation, I can't comment on dining as we had a restaurant booking elsewhere and had toeave early before breakfast
But will definitely return for a proper stay
No complaints
The property is nice and the room cosy. Accept dogs. Nice Spa. Good breakfast.
There was a social gathering so quite busy. Quite expensive
Breakfast - very good food and attentive staff
Room - very comfortable, good air con
Grandeur but not overstated
Every thing was perfect
Beautiful location. Spacious room with everything you need.
Didn’t seem to be enough staff. Staff did their best but were stretched.
The setting .
Had to wait 4 my room .stayed at wood hall sp many times ,and dined in the restaurant, but I find it more 4 rep's or business people, the family part has gone ,also I was given the wrong room .
I emailed the Hotel following my booking to advise I would arrive quite late in the evening. I was greeted with knowledge of my email, a discussion around the purpose of my stay and the common interest about cars. The welcome was very warm, but maintained professionalism. Arriving late and leaving very early was recognised in the morning and suggesting hopefully a longer stay next time, which was really funny. Professional and efficient with good interaction. A lovely hotel and grounds, the room was well positioned, air conditioning was very welcomed.
Having to arrive late and leave early due to my itinerary!
Location staff where incredibly helpful and friendly nothing was to much trouble highly recommend and would definitely return dog friendly and the all make you feel welcome
My only criticism is the food and drinks are a little bit pricey but having that said I would pay again just purely for the location and staff and the food was delicious
The grounds are outstanding, staff very approachable and spa was great too
Room could of been a little cleaner, there was quite a bit of dust and this obviously wasn't just recent surface dust and it was also quite expensive. For the cost I would of expected a spotless room
Elegant hotel in a very private peaceful location. Easy access from car to the room. Good breakfast. Great pit stop on way home from the north
Room service supper wasn’t great. In hindsight I’d have gone down to supper with the children instead as they were so good with children.
Hotel is in beautiful countryside with easy access to walks. Hotel is in fabulous building. Room was spacious, well equipped and comfortable. Enjoyed very good facial and massage in spa.
Staff training seemed erratic - some give very good service and knew what they were doing, others seemed a bit clueless e.g. some asked other guests about allergens but not us, didn't clear tables promptly. We had an issue with the room on first night and had to be moved - this was handled quickly but think we shouldn't have been allocated to first room (obvious drain problem). We had dinner which was good but not at the standard we expected from a 2AA rosette.
Breakfast was average. No fried eggs provided and only orange juice - no apple juice available. The mushrooms were cold, yet we were very early down to breakfast. We also had to ask for toast
No staff on reception when we arrived.
During the World Cup Final the sound was muted on both channels showing the match. It was restored only during the hydration breaks and at half time. Sound was available on all other channels not showing the match so there was no technical fault
from the welcome, amazing coffee, after a 4 hour journey, space for my Harley outside, amazing room, super clean, ground and views to die for, Gods own country, two rose restaurant, could or should be a three, the breakfast was rocking, they made me fresh salmon and bre, as a massive coffee head, the coffee after our meal, was maybe the best coffee I have ever had, go and see. best break.
nothing really, we went for a night away and it was great, shame the spa was busy. would have had a treatment, should have booked something.
