Pros:

Nice and centrally located, friendly staff, free parking, big rooms.

Cons:

Unfortunately our room was next to the elevator, which made a whining noise every time it was used, and you could hear the guests in the room above ours every time they walked around. The room was also quite smelly. Very basic breakfast, a bit like a cheap hostel.

Needs updating , bathroom, flooring etc looks old and dated . Please replace mattress and pillows , not comfortable.

If you’re planning a trip downtown or event at Mary browns center, this hotel is excellent bang for ur buck place

A Great Base for Exploring St John's
Pros:

I stayed here for a week and the end of April/ start of May on my first visit to St John's. The hotel is right in the heart of the city, between the waterfront and Water Street. It's a 10-15 minute drive from the airport.
Check in was fast and friendly and my 3rd floor room was beyond spacious. There was a large separate sitting area with a desk, plenty of storage and lots of natural light. The decor, like the rest of the hotel, was antiquated in a pleasant way which gave it plenty of character and a nice chain from the monotony of modern chains.
The ensuite was large and clean, the room had a coffee maker and housekeeping was of a very high standard.
Breakfast was fairly basic, but free and good enough to set you up for the day.
All in all, an excellent stay and I'd highly recommend the Murray Premises.
