Great location
Pros:

Location.

Cons:

Room was dark so needs better lighting. Bathroom layout was a trip hazard i.e. the step for the shower.

Unique, charming, close to most everything a tourist wants to see/do. The bed & bedding were wonderful.

Lovely staff, great location in St John’s.
Pros:

The location is ideal for exploring St John’s. The history of the place is interesting. The king room was roomy with a comfortable bed.

Cons:

Breakfast was “cold continental” with yogurt, fresh fruit, baked goods and instant oatmeal. We expected more for the price.

We liked staying there but the hotel has room for improvement (see above).
Pros:

Nice room and bathroom.

Cons:

Breakfast: lots of sugary food! No natural Joghurts.
Everything wrapped in plastic!
Lots! of garbage producing, eg no reusable/washable cups and cutlery.
All seats were already occupied by other guests.

Excellent accomodations, great location and would definitely return or recommend for future visits.
Pros:

We were pleasantly surprised to find our room had been upgraded to a large roomy suite with two bathrooms. Location was perfect for exploring downtown SJ and the complimentary breakfast made for a perfect start to the day. We had an excellent dinner in the Gypsy restaurant. The bed was probably one of the most comfortable we have ever slept in during our travels.

Cons:

Just an observation - the step up bathtub in Room 300 could be tricky for someone older and/or with mobility issues. We managed just fine, and perhaps the front desk staff makes a quick judgement call at check in time if guests appear more frail and elderly.

The location is excellent and having available free parking in downtown St John’s is a huge asset. We liked the low key ambiance and our room was quiet and very pleasant.

Excellent. Friendly helpful staff.

Cons:

Breakfast was very basic considering the price of the hotel. Muffins, instant oatmeal, yogurt, fruit and drinks. Room was very noisy. Not street noise, just a hum noise.

A lovely heritage building, great location, and very clean rooms
Pros:

The location is excellent. Our room was well appointed and very clean.

Cons:

Unfortunately, our particular room was beside a very noisy air circulation or vent. This happens I know, but other than that our room being excellent the noise was not pleasant

Another chair would’ve been welcome.

Although the breakfast was good, I have to say I was very disappointed that we had to use Disposable bowls, cups and implements. And it seemed that they were not going to be recycled, but thrown out in the garbage. This is very unfortunate and I hope that in the future you can find some way to create less garbage.
