Utroligt god betjening i receptionen og i garagen med venlige og hjælpsomme mennesker. Værelset var stort, godt indrettet og pænt og rent. Hotellet ligger dejlig centralt - og det er et stort plus, at hotellet har sin egen parkeringskælder. Hyggelig bar med livemusik hver aften. Og god, varieret morgenmaf.
We were upgraded to a two room apartment which was very nicw for the three of us.
The apartment was adjacent to an outdoor area where a celebration was occurring. The event was very loud and went on past 10:00.
The location: if you’re traveling by bus(city link) from Dublin, this hotel is only a few mins walk from the bus station.
It is in a quiet part of downtown but you’re not that far from all the action at Eyre Square.
Poor sound proofing and lack of AC but it is expected of older structures in Ireland. They, however, provide fans and you can always open the windows.
Loved the location, friendly staff, history, value.

Could have been better
We paid €467 for one night in a quadruple room, making this the most expensive accommodation of our two-week trip around Ireland. Unfortunately, it was also by far the poorest in terms of facilities, maintenance and value for money.
The room was in very poor condition: cracked washbasin, damaged/chipped mirror, badly frayed upholstery, damaged doors and handles, poorly finished repairs and generally worn bathroom fittings. We took photographs of all of these issues. Our window also looked directly onto a service area with air-conditioning units and external infrastructure.
Breakfast was equally disappointing for a hotel at this price level. Much of it had an industrial/mass-produced feel, with cereals and jams/marmalade presented from dispensers or individual commercial packs. Even more surprisingly, after paying €467 including breakfast, we were asked to pay an additional €3.50 for a cappuccino.
Finally, we asked whether we could leave our car in the hotel parking for just one additional hour after checkout, and this was refused.
We understand that Galway is expensive in August, but high seasonal demand cannot justify this level of maintenance and service. We stayed in many places throughout Ireland over two weeks, and nowhere else came close to this combination of high price and poor standard.
At €467 for one night, we expected considerably better.
