Location of the hotel is good, you’re only 5 minutes from the town centre and the big Lido next to the ocean. However, if you have mobility issues, it may be worth your while looking for a hotel further down closer to the ocean as there are a lot of steep hills and stairs around the hotel and to get to the town centre. Lovely chilled atmosphere through-out the day and evening, no sun lounger wars! Everyone is very considerate with lounger, if they're leaving for a considerable amount of time, they take their towels and come back to the pool with their towels again. The options of different pools is nice and we liked that as it made the areas less congested. We had the deluxe room with sea view, I’m assuming the hotel is going under a refurb while still operating as there were areas of the hotel which were blocked off and had workmen around, the room definitely needed updated. Main lobby area is lovely and beautifully decorated. I’m again, assuming the rooms may be lower down the list of refurb work. The patio door was VERY stiff and did not slide back and forth smoothly, the chain was very rusted, no lock on the patio doors except the flimsy chain. You need to pay for the safe, it is 4€ each day which is usually standard with a room in a 4 star hotel. No room service available. The food at breakfast is pretty decent, staff members are also okay, the pool staff and maids are more friendly than the rest. The rooms are clean enough, again, we found our room was a little dated i.e. with cracked paint. Generally not a noisy hotel however a lot of construction noise from inside and outside the hotel right now (July 2026).
We are here now and I am writing this, as I was worried after reading some of the recent reviews and need not have been.
Obviously, everyone has their own idea of a perfect holiday. If it’s chu chu ra you want, I don’t think you will get it here?
We purposely chose Puerto de la Cruz because although still touristy, it’s still more authentic and more Spanish than Costa Adeje, or other areas in the south.
First impressions are that the hotel is lovely. We were given a room on the 2nd floor and have a sea view. As you will know, renovations are taking place, so the room we have is brand new and gorgeous. The water does leak out of the shower in our room and trickle into the room’s hallway however, as someone noted, but these are no doubt teething issues after the latest renovations, so we are patient. The only evidence of renovations we have seen so far is some construction cordoned off on one of the floors next to the lift and some people doing some work on the gardens.
Parking wise, this could be better for the size of the hotel - we managed to squeeze into a space and I understand why it is going to be a lottery.
The pool situation is better than expected. I thought from the images, that the infinity pool with bar was the rooftop bar but it’s not - so you have this pool that is accessible to families, next to a pool snack bar serving something for everyone, e.g. burgers, salad, plain pasta with plain tomato pasta and herb sauce separately, chicken nuggets, chips, hot dogs, pizza, fruit, small selection of desserts and then on the other side of this, the much better than anticipated splash park. Then a short walk away, is the round family pool which looks nicer than the online photos, as the furniture is lovely, but I believe this pool area is to be updated in the Autumn? Then there is the adults only area on the roof, where you pay extra for drinks.
I believe there is entertainment in the form of musicians/singers on around 4-5 nights per week in the hotel lobby from where you have some incredible views of the coastline.
The evening meal had a great selection- I didn’t get all of the photos of the food and was missing the pasta and a few fish/meat options and maybe one or two more. But you get the gist. The people cooking/people behind the counters could be a bit friendlier but they were not rude, either. Our waiter was lovely and friendly. I hope there will be some more tapas options during the week but time will tell.
The hotel is pretty quiet i thought, but there are lots of nationalities here, including Spanish. As I say, we have just arrived, but hopefully this will help someone who might be worried due to some of the recent reviews.
The rooms where quite spacious, and we took a standard room with balcony and had no problems, bed were very comfortable and working bathroom and aircon which is a must as the room can get quite stuffy during the night which kept it cool and spacious. The location around the hotel was based in Puerto De La Cruz, which overall is a gorgeous town to walk around in, although since the hotel is based on the hill and stairs and hill can feel quite tough. A lot of people say about the weather within the North of Tenerife, which is true. It is cloudy most of the days because of the mountain behind us, but still very warm and easily burnt. If you are looking for all blue skies, go to the south but even at that, the north is still gorgeous. The staff were lovely and so helpful, and food and drink was great too. The entertainment was not great, although it only went on for an hour and then music from a speaker played within the lobby bar, which was still great. The two pools are lovely, both equipped with sun loungers and pool bars with lots of range. The reason we didn't give this hotel a 5 star is because of renovations within the hotel, especially within floor 4. These can be quite noisy and very early within the morning, but never truly impacted us as we were up before 9. We arrived at 4am, and we still had food prepared for us which was thoughtful as flight was delayed. Transfer from south was about 1hr 30mins, or could be longer via couch. Overall it was a lovely holiday, and everything equipped our needs.
I stay in this hotel with my dad and 2 kids so were in a family room. The room was lovely and kept clean during our stay. The balcony was great with a lovely view of the sea. The splash park was great my son loved it. Roof top bar is lovely with great views.
The downside to our week long stay was there was no storage only a double wardrobe with shelving on the top which made it hard to reach anything you put up there. We ended up living out of our suitcases for the week. There is no dressing table or drawers. The other massive problem was the shower. It leaked into the hallway. I had to pile towels up along the edge to stop it leaking. There was also a gap between the door and wall where you could see into the shower which i wasn't keen on. It was my sons first trip abroad and with him having autism he took quite a few teddies a few times the cleaners made his bed and set his teddies up but on the 2nd day we got a letter saying we needed to keep the room tidy which is hard when there isnt much storage.
For the price i don't think i would return. My dad has stayed in many hotels in the location and has said there is better for the price.
25 th July 2026 staying here now!!
We’re are a family of 4 1 adult 3 children
Room basic no balcony
Water park lovely
The problem is. Cockroaches.!!!! There everywhere !!
Been to the hotel reception
I was told there was no more rooms available and they could change us , was also told not to open the windows!!
Spoke to a tui rep she rang the hotel and was oblivious to me complaining about them even said a cleaner had been up to my room to spay , I said what time did they say .. then for him to say there was no log of them coming .
Just come back up to our room to find another couple having cockroaches in there room , then for them to say they have been told the same thing!!
Absolutely avoid this hotel !!!
The staff don’t care they blame the weather !
O duche, a água estava sempre a inundar a casa de banho e a entrada do quarto
The hotel is very convenient located with easy access to the beachwalk and Downtown.
Also a nice view to El Teide or the ocean from most rooms.
Hotel is very old and needs renovation which is also happening. The noice from construction was though minimal and did not borther us. However if you get a room that is still not renovated, it is not a pleasant experience. The night we arrived the aircon did not cool and dripped water down on the shelves and on the floor ( it was a lot of water). Next morning we pointed it out and nothing happened so at night we mentioned it again and repairman came immediately and fixed it. They also send some to clean after the repair. The aircon no longer dripped while running but still did not cool properly. However next morning when we turned off ithe aircon It started to drip again. They came and repaired that immediately. After that no more dripping for the rest of the 10 days but aircon was still not cooling properly so som very warm nights.
The service overall was though very good both at the buffet and at the pools.
Also the food selection and quality at the buffet was significant above what we have experienced at other hotels. Especially their weekly seafood buffet was impressive.
The hotel has two pools and what small waterland. Especially the new area with pool, waterland and pool bar is very nice.
So if we had been so lucky to have gotten one of the new rooms I think the score would have been 4.5 but due to the room it is down to an average 3.
Ruime kamer, uitgebreid ontbijt, proper, mooie zwembaden met splash gedeelte. Lekkere drankjes
Airco drupt, matrassen nogal hard
Emplacement, modernité, repas, piscines, roof top, bars, personnels.
The hotel is renovated and very clean. We had a wonderful family room with a terrace; it was modernly furnished and very clean.
The staff are very friendly and helpful.
We had half-board—all the food was excellent, very tasty and offered a wide variety of choices. Recommend!
The Atlantic Splash for children and the hotel's rooftop terrace are fantastic.
The location is superb, right next to shops and the local action.
We were very pleasantly surprised and we really enjoyed. We highly recommend it!
It's a bit harder to find a parking spot, but we had a lucky all days
