Having stayed at St Ives several times before, the visit was much as expected. Excepting for one stand-out moment.
Brittany was on duty at reception on Friday night when we arrived. As we approached the counter a fire alarm went off. She handled the situation with calm poise and equanimity (yes, I know that's tautological, but the emphasis is appropriate). Brittany even managed to smile gently as she directed us and others out of the building, and she kept that demeanour after we returned. It should also be noted she did not evacuate with us, she walked towards the risk (probably against policy, but I care less for that) to investigate the emergency (a burnt hamburger).
Brittany's manner with people is so pleasant and confident - characteristics that build a sense of reliability and assurance in customers. She can have a great future in hospitality - and probably many other career paths. Take good care of her: she's a gem.
The property was located in beautiful Battery Point and was exactly what I needed. The room was big, comfortable and clean and it was great having the kitchenette. Great value for money, Ill absolutely be back.

Quite a bit of noise from apartments above.
Comfortable beds. Good location and clean
The power points near the beds were on the floor and hard to reach. Difficult for people with disabilities etc.
No microwave dishes.
Noisy at night. We were on the road side and had extremely active neighbours.
Fantastic location with complimentary parking. Even without a car, so convenient to walk to the CBD, Salamanca, Sandy Bay and of course, Battery Point. Spacious, clean room with all the essentials for preparing and ‘eating in.’
