The evening meal was the best thing at the Hotel.
Plenty of milk, coffee.
Room tired and bathroom had mould in the bath surround, toilet flush took several pushes to get it working and the sink plug did not hold water. Dirty under the pelmet in the bathroom. See photos
One tea bag,
Delicious breakfast. Staff were extremely friendly and approachable. The room was a fantastic size and extremely clean
The lighting in the room wasn’t quite bright enough
It was fine. The location was good for the area.
It was just in need of a spruce up
We found the bedroom very comfortable, with opening windows, a good bed and plenty of tea/coffee-making stuff, including decaff. The breakfast was nice although see next box. Beautiful setting and great value for money, and a great stopover between Lincs and Northumberland.
I only wanted toast for breakfast but the flat price makes that very expensive toast. I paid the price and ate more than I needed, which was greedy of me but also seems wasteful. Could you have a more flexible menu?
Peace and quiet.
The hotel is a lovely old building. The room was comfortable, and the accessible bathroom was ideal for me. The food was good and plentiful,
A bit disappointed with the breakfast, not enough choice, but overall we enjoyed our one night there, and would stay again.
Open garden, games room showing the football.
I found it rather weird i couldnt buy a red bull from the bar untill after 11am.
I dont do tea or coffee and simply needed some morning caffeine. Asked at reception and was told they couldnt provide this untill 11am
We paid for evening meal excellent service
Bed was comfortable and it was quiet. Had a lovely choice for breakfast and as much as I wanted.
Arrived at the property at around 4pm and was unable to find food so had to wait a couple of hours. The room was very small. There was a heatwave and had no fan or fridge to cool water
The grounds were lovely .the hotel was very nicely decorated .Staff were wonderful .
The meals were reasonably priced and absolutely the best meals we have had in a long time.
Only downside was the extreme heat and the hotel does not have air condition exception the dining room .
They supplied us with a fan which we were grateful for .I hope they will invest in getting full air conditioning .However they couldn’t have predicted the extreme weather.Loved the area would totally recommend this hotel.Well done to the staff and thank you.
Not enough air conditioning.
Location
Attitude of senior staff and appalling smell in the first room we were sent to which showed signs of not having been cleaned
The evening meal and the breakfast...
The room was lovely and great to have free WIFI...
Staff were very pleasant and happy to help in any way...
The grounds were beautifully looked after and parking was ok...
The hotel was clean and the grounds were tidy.
The staff were very courteous and helpful except The lady on reception. I found her rude when we booked in
And subsequently on my later request to move rooms. We booked at the beginning of April but still managed to have a room at the top of the hotel where it was like a sauna.
The room was sparse and uninviting. It was supposed to be an executive room. There was no phone as advertised the hand soap was the size of an after dinner mint and we were left a plastic cup by the sink. The bathroom door contained a warning that if steam was allowed to get into the bedroom it could possibly set off the fire alarm which we would have to pay a £160
Call out fee. This is just disgraceful. I did go down to request a new room only to be told that there were none available .I found out later that this was not true they still had rooms to let that evening. I booked an executive room, apparantly the only difference between a standard room and executive is a nicer headboard. It’s a joke.
My dislikes are written above.
We were there for our 60th Wedding anniversary which the hotel were aware of.
The sauna room spoilt what should have. Been an enjoyable visit but due to the inconsideration of the reception staff it was ruined.
The staff where very accomodating and friendly. The facilities where very clean, tidy and well cared for. The food was excellent, a good breakfast with a wide variety of choices.
Nothing to consider here.
