The property is set in very peaceful surroundings. York is approximately ten miles away but very easy to access from this venue. Parking is free which is a bonus compared to the hotels actually in York, who all seem to charge.
The staff are very friendly.
A full English breakfast is available every morning with a generous pot of tea or coffee. The restaurant also provides a good standard of cuisine in the evenings.
The towels in the bathroom are a good quality and a good size.
Our bathroom could have been cleaner. It was obvious that the tiles had not been wiped down. The shower curtain was discolored at the bottom. There were paint splatters on the towel rail which could easily be removed and there was slight scale staining around the toilet bowl which could easily be dealt with with the correct cleaner. It had had what I call a tickle clean rather than a deep clean.
Location was good, bar, breakfast and the staff were good, reception could have been more friendly.

The room was of a good size, and basically clean. Unfortunately the Bathroom was not as clean as it could be, but the duty manager came straight up and took photos of our concerns so they could be dealt with.
There was nothing to prompt me to give this hotel a poor review. The location was very peaceful and convinient for park and ride services to York.
The food was excellent, rather large portions on the main meals !! Everyone was very welcoming and helpful, proper service all round 👍👍😁
The flat sheets on the bed were very annoying, that's the only thing 🤗
I liked the location and the facilities.
I didnt like the bedding as it had a blue stain on the sheet on the mattress. And when I told the reception all she said ohh well look in to it. As if there was no care.
The rooms were spacious and well presented. The staff were friendly and attentive.
I wasn't too keen on the shower not being able to be removed from the wall

It is an attractive country house hotel.
It needs to update some facilities. Breakfast is limited in choice as were the complimentary toiletries in our room. 2 tiny bottles and a sliver of soap for 2 people.

we were in room 217, the floorboards in the room above us were very squeaky and very loud, the guest was walking around their room until 23:30 and then started again at 06:00. We did not get a good nights sleep at all. We were not asked how our stay was when we were checking out
Great value for money, comfortable and a pleasant country house vibe. the breakfast was excellent and the location grean, pleasant and quite.
Food in rrstaurant was very good.
Would have liked continental breakfast option but full was very good.
