Emplacement parfait, petit-déjeuner très bien sauf le café, personnel accueillant

The ladies at the front desk were so friendly and helpful. They answered my gazillion questions, upgraded my room, gave me coupons to the rooftop bar and the spa and ordered me a taxi to the airport. I immediately felt so at home after a long tiring flight. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

The view from the rooftop is spectacular. The bar is a very busy place on a Saturday night. You might not get a table without a reservation.

The spa in the basement was intimate. I didn't stay long because it felt busy with already 2 other people there chatting.

I spent hours watching the seaview and Harpa concert hall. It was mesmerizing.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, the hotel is within walking distance of a main bus stop for the tour buses, and the breakfast bar was awesome! We especially appreciated Charlene and Mika at the front desk with their knowledge of local restaurants and other businesses, and Jamal notifying us when he spotted the Northern Lights made the entire trip! Be sure to put your name on the Northern Lights call list if you are hoping to see them during your stay.

Fantastic location, with a view of harpa, and very short walk to central reykjavik.
Staff were very helpful, and rooms were clean and comfortable.
Blackout curtains definitely came in handy!

It was my 4th time at the Hotel, which means I always make my reservation there. I like it as its very comfortable, good location and easy to reach. I recommend it to my colleagues and 2 of them stayed there.

We stayed at the Center Hotels Arnarhvoll in Reykjavik, Iceland in June 2026. The hotel was chosen primarily due to its location. The hotel is located near the waterfront, across from the Harpa Concert Hall. So it is a nice walk to/from bus stops, historic part of town, the church, and boat pier for whale and Puffin watching tours

The rooms are small, but clean. Surprisingly, the shower is nothing that we have ever encountered! It shares the floor with the rest of the small bathroom, with a curved plastic door to keep water from hitting the bathroom door. Everything else gets wet. There is a squeegee provided to move water to the drain after showering. This was our biggest disappointment at the hotel.

There is no air-conditioning, so there is a small window that can be opened to let in fresh air from outside. There is no screen in the window. The room had a big crack across the ceiling and some paint was chipping. Our room had 2 twin beds, a desk, 2 strange chairs, and a small refrigerator. The TV had some channels that had weak signal scrambling problems. The Wi-Fi worked fairly well, as it does in most of Iceland. My bed sheet had a small hole in it that was clearly visible on by the pillow area. So not perfectly maintained room. It was refreshed everyday, at our request.

The breakfast cost extra to the room price, and was located on the top floor bar area. It had good food and an excellent view of the harbor and music hall.

The front door needs to be automated, as older people were struggling to get their luggage through the door. It kept closing.

The staff were nice. However they forgot to remind us that a drink was included each day of our stay. I forgot about that until the last night. I asked, and we got a voucher for 2 drinks only for that day.

Overall, the hotel had a great location and was clean. For being very expensive per night, I would have expected a nicer shower and better building maintenance. If you are willing to spend over $400 USD per night for the location, then I recommend it. Otherwise, you may want to check around for nicer accomodations.

We stayed here a week for my 30th birthday. We were very well looked after by all the staff at the hotel and in the Sky Lounge. The breakfast was tasty, hot and varied. It was a lovely cosy hotel, which was just opposite the Harpa Concert Hall and the harbour. The sea views from our rooms were spectacular and the location was perfect. It was a ten minute walk from the Old Harbour and a 5 minute walk to the centre of the city.
It is also opposite number #5 bus stop for the hop on, hop off bus, excursion pick ups and transfers to and from the airport.
On my birthday I got a lovely selection of cakes at breakfast and then when we came back after the day I also had a card and sweet treats in my room.
The bathroom was more of a wet room but was not an issue.

Been staying there for 6 years. Great ocean view location. Staff helpful w details while there, ie, book day trips, fly bus etc.

Very clean..super comfortable bed and great location.
