We have been in 6 hotels in Japan and Korea. This was the most expensive one and the less value for money. Our hotel room looked old an smell bad . After 17.00 everything around the hotel is closed. No where to buy food or drinks,no grossary store .If you don't have a car you are stuck .
Location, atmosphere, cleanliness, friendly staff, food.
I loved it, but restaurants and onsen require walk to visit, if you have difficulty in mobility, you may want to consider wheelchairs .
The lake facing rooms and hotel grounds were great, the staff is super friendly and courteous, and the hotel is tranquil and quiet which was great for relaxation. Onsen was good. The hourly shuttle made it comfortable to get to the town, and they have a free bus service to Odawara station for those using the Shinkansen.
The property has odd restaurant timings and a very limited vegetarian menu/options. It’s difficult to find dinner after 8:45 pm or lunch after 2:30 pm. There are no restaurant options immediately outside either. The bar menu is super small. Compared to other “4-star” options in Hakone, this hotel was just average.

Sala ping pong. Negozi e attrazioni appena fuori.
Nulla
There are a lot of hidden payments during check out, everything is closing too early, open only in 11
The hotel is beautifully located on the shore of Lake Ashi and within walking distance of a Hakone-en lake ferry pier and the Hakone Komagatake ropeways. Very peaceful after our frenetic days in Kyoto, Osaka and Tokyo with immaculate gardens and very nice Onsen. A very nice hotel shop selling snacks, drinks and souvenirs. Beautiful views of surrounding nature although sadly it was cloudy the whole two days we were there, so we didn't see Mount Fuji (not their fault - a quite common during the rainy season). The ride on the ferry (not the Pirate Ship) was convenient and close by. We also enjoyed the main Hakone ropeway over the Sulphur pools
it's a 50 minute shuttle bus ride from the Hakone train station which you need to book in advance. This adds to the waiting around and time to get there. The two specialist restaurants were very expensive and there are no local restaurants outside the grounds to go to. The buffet for dinner and breakfast is much better but still expensive. The bar was very quiet and expensive but drinks from the in hotel store were good value.
