Disappointing Check-In Experience at Grand Fiesta Americana Guadalajara

So far, our stay at Fiesta Americana has been disappointing specifically due to the check-in experience.

During check-in, we were informed that breakfast was not included in our reservation, despite Expedia clearly advertising a complimentary buffet breakfast for two per day with any room type. This is not a continental breakfast, but a full buffet — which is important to clarify, as this is exactly what is being offered.

We were told that Expedia did not include this information in our reservation, even though it is visibly part of the offer on their platform. While we were informed that we are Expedia VIP guests, there was no real effort to further verify or resolve the discrepancy. The situation felt more dismissed than addressed, rather than handled with the level of care one would expect.

Having stayed at several hotels within the Fiesta Americana brand — most recently in Oaxaca — we expected a consistent standard across the chain. Unfortunately, this experience did not reflect that. Check-in is the first impression a hotel provides, and in this case, it felt somewhat below expectations — more procedural than genuinely attentive.

This is particularly disappointing, as we chose this property trusting the consistency and service standards associated with the brand.
