This Was our second visit to Millcroft. On this visit we were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary. We had a great meal in the dining room with a great view of the waterfall. The people serving us were excellent! maybe the best service we have ever received while dining.
When we arrived a at around 4pm my wife and were very tired so we took a nap and then went for diner. so we did not get a chance to enjoy the pool area. The next morning went for breakfast and and finished at 10:30am. On the way out we asked the lady at the front desk if we could enjoy the the pool for an hour before we left and was categorically denied being advised that check was at 11 and that guests could not use the pool after this time. My bill for one night was over $800. We gave the dining room staff 25% tips. this level inflexibility seems very customer unfocused and petty! I provided a google review and the response was canned response similar to all other poor reviews. The response suggested i should call them to discuss this issue. If you really cared about our business someone from Millcroft would call us, not the other way around!
The location. The food was delicious. Able to enjoy a few cocktails in the spa area. The walking paths
The prices went considerably since out last stay. Food is so expensive. Nothing has been upgraded to reflect the extra charges.
Hotel is lovely although in some areas could use a refresh. Rooms are large and comfortable although strangely provide coffee machine but no kettle (but they did bring one).
Access to the pool very disappointing was one of the reasons we booked this place. Arrived before 3pm check out and told we could not wait at the pool.. had an event in the evening so looked forward to a dip after breakfast. Not alllowed. After 11am check out guests no longer have pool access so basically you have a 3 hour window to enjoy the pool.
Unique and beautiful setting. Comfortable rooms
Not much
Location and convenience
None
The servers at the restaurant made the stay. They were absolutely amazing but staff at the front desk were almost condescending and robotic. Place did not smell great and it wasn’t cleaned well. It is a very old and beautiful building but all I could think was how confusing that it tries to be high end with so much missing the mark. I’ve stayed in many different levels of hotels, and cheaper places have blown us out of the water in service and comfort while this was meh.
Cozy. Friendly staff. Left a rose on our bed. Restaurant food and service was excellent. Spa service excellent.
Room was too hot, a little small. AC fan was too noisy and kept us up all night. Curtains didn't close completely, let light in. Bugs crawling around in the bathroom. Orange peel left on the floor beside garbage can. Steam room did not have eucalyptus scent and didn't have enough steam.
Great facility and great location. Beautiful
Lack of activities e.g. Pickleballl or Tennis or anything.
Heated floor in bathroom. Setting is beautiful. Again much of the landscaping in need of a do over.
Unit and hotel in general were dated and in need of renovation. Old dusty light fixtures, paint chipped off baseboards, musty smelling carpet in unit…just felt dated and not clean. Paint peeling off exterior of spa buildings, clutter and items in disrepair, unneeded clutter on pool deck. Quite disappointed overall. Construction occurring right outside of unit. Not made aware during booking-not a deal breaker but being transparent to the customer would be appreciated.
Loved the ambiance, the ability to use the spa both check in day (soft check in) and after check out to make value for money worth it.
Traveling with a senior, one bed was so high, that it was very very difficult for her to get into and out of the bed without support. This should be mentioned.
Everyone was very helpful and friendly
Our room was very cold, and we weren't sure how to control the heat..
