Stayed here recently and was pleasantly surprised. The photos online matched reality, which doesn’t always happen 😅 The room was cozy and the service was excellent.
What an incredible stay! From champagne on arrival to wine and cheese at 5:30 to cookies at 8:30, the service was outstanding. The staff went out of their way to offer conversation and advice. Our king room was lovely. Housekeeping included turn down and a chocolate every evening along with clean towels. Guests were mainly over 40 which was wonderful. The adage “you get what you pay for “ is very true here. It is expensive but so worth it. If you can catch a special, definitely book here. We had 15% off, free valet parking, and a $100 gift card for Hall’s restaurants which we used for the Sunday gospel brunch. The valet was great and we never waited more than 10 minutes for the car. The location is wonderful, although the street itself is not grand, and you can walk to most places. They do have a bar but we found the bar at the sister hotel The Spectator next door to be superior. Our only issue was the construction directly across the street from the main entrance and the view from our window. I requested a quiet room and had specifically asked about the construction. On the weekend it was fine, but during the week, they did start working around 8 am. It was tolerable since we were gone most of the day. However, you need to consider this if you sleep late. I would still 100% stay here again but probably only after the construction is done.
Where does one begin to describe the epitome of customer service with a side of casual elegance and classic southern charm? With the staff, of course! Bob, Kristen, Jose, Kim and Tyler, all contributed to a memorable stay. We thank all of you for making our repeat, though all to brief, stay, a wonderful experience. We love this hotel. The rooms are beautiful and spacious. The tiny details, from the card that encases your room keys to the chocolates at turndown, thoughtfulness abounds. Breakfast is perfect, Tea Time is terrific and Cookies between 8-10pm is just adorable. We can’t wait to go back!!
The breakfast was great. Check in was simple. The room was huge and the hotel location was close to everything.
No complaints at all
From the moment I arrived at The French Quarter Inn I felt that this was a special hotel. Every single staff member I interacted with was amazing, they really are completely motivated to make sure your stay is incredible. Bob, Toby, and Kimberly were helpful, nice, and fun to talk to. Jose and Ben at valet were always a step ahead on service.
The location is elite. Walking distance to some of the best restaurants in Charleston. Plus sites and things to do.
The rooms were clean, comfortable, and quiet. Slept soundly each night.
My favorite part of the stay was being in the lobby in the afternoon and evening to enjoy the wine/cheese and milk/cookies. It was very easy to chat with other guests and the staff which made the atmosphere extremely comfortable and inviting.
There's no doubt we'll be back to this hotel and it's likely the meausuring stick that i'll compare future hotels to.
We all loved this Inn! I would go back there again if I visited Charleston.
The decor, professional and feiendly staff were so refreshing.
I slept like a baby on their mattress and got to choose the softness of my pillow.
The Lobby was gorgeous and inviting. The candy bar made it even better.
The complimentary breakfast was delicious. Coffee and tea all day long were available. Also, lemonade and ice tea.
The Inn was immaculate. The Market and many restaurants were within walking distance.
We all agreed we had one of the best vacations ever.
**⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Perfect Charleston Gem - French Quarter Inn**
I just returned from an absolutely wonderful stay at the French Quarter Inn in Charleston, and I can't recommend it highly enough! This boutique hotel truly exceeded all my expectations.
**Location & Accessibility**: The location is simply unbeatable - nestled right in the heart of Charleston's historic district, you're literally steps away from all the main attractions, incredible restaurants, and charming cobblestone streets. Getting around town was a breeze, and I loved that the hotel offers complimentary bike access. There's nothing quite like cycling through Charleston's tree-lined streets at your own pace!
**Thoughtful Amenities**: The daily wine and cheese reception at 5 PM was such a delightful touch - it's the perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring and meet fellow travelers. And those warm cookies every evening? Pure magic! These little touches really made it feel like a home away from home.
**Comfort & Atmosphere**: Despite being in the bustling heart of the city, my room was remarkably quiet and peaceful. The cleanliness was impeccable, and every detail was thoughtfully appointed. The hotel strikes that perfect balance between elegant sophistication and cozy comfort.
**Outstanding Staff**: The staff deserves special recognition - they were genuinely lovely, attentive, and went out of their way to make sure every aspect of my stay was perfect. Their local recommendations were spot-on!
The French Quarter Inn captures everything magical about Charleston hospitality. I'm already planning my return visit!
The hotel is amazing! Friendly and welcoming staff. The accommodations were fantastic.
My wife and I stayed at the French Quarter Inn for a couple of nights and fell in love with the hotel. Great service throughout our stay. The valet parking took care of the vehicle and had our luggage in the room before we made it to the room. Check-in was really nice with complimentary champagne. The room was fantastic. It was spacious, comfortable, and decorated very nicely. Great complimentary breakfast offered, and we really enjoyed the complementary Wine & Cheese hour + the warm Cookies and Milk hour offered a little later. They offer a very nice courtyard to sit and enjoy everything, and the Lobby area is extremely nice and inviting. Service was exceptional. The location is perfect. We walked to everything. Good selection of restaurants are very close, and next door is the outdoor market that is nice to visit. Overall, I absolutely loved this hotel and would stay here again.
We spent a few nights at the French Quarter Inn and loved our stay! The hotel was very clean and comfortable (the beds! the pillows!) and we enjoyed the daily breakfast, charcuterie & wine, and cookies and milk. Bob, at the front desk, was very engaging and kept us entertained as well as giving us great recommendations for restaurants. Housekeeping was very good and non-intrusive, cleaning while we were sightseeing. The location is great -- we walked to everything except the Magnolia Plantation and the beaches we visited. We will recommend this boutique hotel to friends and family, and return ourselves if our travels find us back in Charleston.
I love the French Quarter Inn. The location is close to the city market and just about everything else. We rarely take our car out once we valet and are able to walk everywhere. The staff is wonderful, the rooms are big and very clean and the amenities are great. The breakfast is more than enough with a beautiful courtyard to sit out and enjoy. They also have a happy hour that is the perfect place to go before leaving for dinner. I would highly recommend The French Quarter Inn.
I loved this Inn. If your in Charleston you must stay there!
Property was nice and location was great!
The entrance
If you are a family, you need to book this hotel! We are a family of 5, and it is sometimes hard for us to find a room that will fit all of us comfortably, and this was it. Our suite was HUGE with the biggest terrace that our girls loved playing on. If you had a bike, you could ride it on this terrace. It was huge! In addition, we had breakfast delivered to our room every morning, stopped by the candy station each day, and enjoyed happy hour on the patio, complete with treats for the kids. The best part of our stay was Bob and Izzie! They made our kids feel so welcome, even after one of them spilled milk all over the floor. Bob had special lemonade waiting for the girls each day and Izzie brought items up to our room that we left in the lobby. The girls looked forward to seeing Bob each day! We will be back!
This beautiful property, in the perfect location for exploring Charleston, is my favorite of all the hotels I've visited in my many travels. The room was lovely with a large balcony and lots of luxurious touches. The staff was eager to provide the best service (special shout-out to Bob), and the included amenities - champagne upon arrival, afternoon bites, room service or buffet breakfast, and evening milk and cookies, were welcome additions. Expensive, but worth every penny.
Spent 3 days at the French Quarter Inn In Charleston. It was my first time in Charleston and also at this hotel. The hotel location is perfect for see all the sights in Charleston. Walking distance to everything downtown. From the moment we arrived the service was top notch. We enjoyed the wine and cheese at 5.30 and the cookies and milk at 8.30. The morning breakfast buffet at 6.30 was nice as we headed out to see the town. Highly recommend the hotel and staff and Charleston a beautiful city.
We visited for 4 nights and the stay couldn’t have been better. Staff were friendly, helpful, and timely. Rooms were bery clean and comfortable. The morning breakfast each day was hearty with options for protien, and treats too. The evening wine and cheese as well as milk and cookies were both favorites too. Can’t say enough about our time.
We had a fantastic stay at this hotel and I would recommend it. The facilities have an older feel but extremely well maintained, upscale, and with top rate service (the service was friendly and truly wonderful!). I love the location - right near the City Market but on a quieter side street so the hotel seems peaceful and more removed. Extras like the included breakfast and cookies at night for the kids were a bonus.
