Pros:

The the location is totally amazing, make sure you get a room with a water view and pray for a clear afternoon. The views are stunning and you can open the door to hear soft ocean noises. If you are going big, the cabins with private hot tub looked really nice. There’s a paved walking path all the way into town and it’s a very long walk, but be aware town isn’t really much, it’s a very tiny rural community. There are also hiking trails directly behind the property up the hillside. There isn’t really much else around without driving so you’ll need a car or get very familiar with the bus schedule. However, the restaurant on the property is wonderful and I would very much recommend. Based on beautiful location and not wanting to drive more, we ended up doing dinner there both nights. Some of the best muscles I’ve had, so fresh, perfectly cooked and very mild creamy sauce. We also had this steak and the seafood platter and both were excellent, even the side salad was way above average. The pool area and hot tub is nice and would be great if you have kids. The hot tub wasn’t quite hot enough for me, but I assume that’s to make it family friendly. I would definitely stay here again and recommend you come for a visit. The staff are very helpful and friendly.

Pros:

View was great. Dinner food was good. We enjoyed the hot tub.

Cons:

Bed was hard. Very dated furniture and facilities. Breakfast was meat heavy. Would have liked plain yogurt. They did fix porridge upon request.

Highly recommend - would love to stay again.
Pros:

Holly Tree was a very peaceful and beautiful place to stay. Our room had a balcony over the loch - the views are just incredible. Our room was very clean and comfortable, lovely big bed with nice linen and it was quiet to sleep at night.
We enjoyed the hot tub and heated indoor pool and dining on-site, the food was excellent and staff friendly and helpful.
Holly Tree was conveniently located for our visits to Glencoe highlands and surrounds.

Ett fantastiskt läge, men ett ganska slitet hotell
Pros:

Hotellet ligger fantastiskt fint och våra rum hade havsutsikt. Maten på kvällarna i restaurangen var mycket bra och det fanns möjlighet vid bra väder att sitta och njuta utomhus med utsikten som sällskap. Personalen var trevlig och tillmötesgående.

Cons:

Frukosten var i kantiner och ganska tråkig. Inga pålägg förutom marmelad. Hotellet är lite slitet och det som ser ut som ett fint poolområde är inget vidare.

Most of the staff were polite but I’d keep looking for
Pros:

The location is its best feature. Outside of town but close to the hiking trails and overlooking the water.

Cons:

Our room did not match the photo. It was not worth the money. There was black scum around the pool area and ceiling.
