Fantastic location looking over Oban harbour, great eating options very near. Wonderful breakfast and friendly, helpful staff. Very comfortable bed and great shower, lovely treats and selection of teas and coffees

L’excellent emplacement et le confort global.
If we ever come back to Oban it will be to this hotel. We had a large, comfortable room full of small, nice details (like small chocolates and cookies, super good). The room was in a corner with incredibly nice views of the sea. The bed was big and comfortable. The bathroom was big and nice. The toiletries very good. We even had a walk-in closet. Really nice place.
The only thing one could say that is not super positive is that the breakfast buffet was not as good as everything else. There is an a la carte part and also buffet. And the buffet is really not needed. I would keep either only a la carte or replace a la carte for a higher quality buffet.
Spa steam rooms
The room was stunning and so spacious, with a beautiful view. Every need was catered for - it even provided exercise mats. The location was perfect and even though there is no parking we did not have difficulty parking outside the hotel in the evening. The breakfast was cooked to order and delicious.
There were some drunks making a noise outside the window one of the nights but that comes with the central location and the hotel was not to blame.
The hotel was very clean, calm and quite modern. All the staff were very good, professional and friendly. Easy check-in and great room. Lovely spa/therapy facilities...I had a great massage at a very reasonable price. The view and location is brilliant and when the sun shone, sitting in the terrace area watching the world go by was very relaxing.
We had a slightly disturbed night on the first day of our stay ...not sure if this was in/outside the hotel.

Excellent central location and handy for the ferry terminal. The long stay parking was only a short walk away. We enjoyed the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast.
The only issue was that our room would have benefitted from a sheer curtain as well as the heavier curtains. Being at the back of the hotel we could see straight into the building opposite so presumably the occupants could also see into our room. I don't want to close heavy curtains during the day in summer but it did feel that privacy was lacking.
Very comfortable and all facilities were as expected in a hotel of this quality.
Food was excellent, choice was extensive, very well presented and cooked to a high standard.
Wonderful selection of cocktails and whiskeys available in Lulu lounge all very well prepared.
Breakfast service was acceptable but felt number of staff available, although very welcoming, we're struggling to cope with replacing food on buffet and clearing tables once guests had finished.
Also not too happy about service charge automatically being added to dinner bills. This was paid because we felt it was deserved but would have preferred a choice.

First breakfast was delayed, cold and with lumpy haggis. Other breakfasts were better.
The lady maitre d' in dining room was abrupt but this may be a cultural thing as she sounded foreign.
The dinner menu for the Brasserie did not appeal, we found more suitable choices in the nearby Royal hotel lounge.
Not enough room for clothes, two hangers per person, no hooks for jackets etc.

Good traditional hotel. Comfortable spacious room. Pleasant public areas and bar. Friendly helpful staff. Good breakfast. Perfect location for ferries to the islands, the train and the coach.
The on site restaurant was very good, but rather on the expensive side.
Sehr schönes grosses, gut geheiztes Zimmer. Das Frühstück war sehr vielseitig und einfach lecker!
Nichts
Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral, daher sehr laut durch Straßenlärm! Fenster und Einrichtung ebenfalls sehr alt!
Wellness viel zu klein mit Minisauna und kleinen Ruheraum!!
This was a very nice, clean hotel, with friendly staff, convenient to local shops and within walking distance of many restaurants. I would definitely recommend it.
