We have stopped here 5-6 times now and always great. Was upgraded to a suite which was brilliant.
Nothing
It was nice being the special guest. Upgraded room complimentary drink and coffee to take away when we left. 20% off when we bought food. Such a nice thing to do and a lovely surprise.
I can’t think of anything to dislike.

Leaving
It’s convience to the motorway
The room was too far for me to walk from reception
The hotel itself was lovely, with clean rooms and a nice atmosphere overall. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the facilities were modern and well maintained. The location was convenient, and despite the busy conference period, the hotel still felt organised. The food and general service were very good, and overall we had an enjoyable stay.
The leisure club was far too busy, even though guests were asked to book in advance to help manage numbers. What I didn’t like is that the leisure club is not just for hotel guests — it is also open to the public through gym memberships, meaning anyone can come in at any time. Unfortunately, the booking system does not seem to work well because it still gets extremely crowded.
There was also a huge conference taking place during our stay, so every time you went to and from the leisure club, you had to walk through large groups of people, which made the experience feel hectic rather than relaxing.
In addition, there were a few rude ladies in the changing room, which made the atmosphere uncomfortable. For these reasons, I personally would not use the leisure club again.
The parking, reception staff and pool facilities were excellent. The pool area was really impressive, clean and taken care of. The sauna and steam room were a great temperature!
The reception staff were very friendly, and told us exactly where everything was located.
The breakfast was also great value for money, nice selection and well cooked food.
The bar staff at the Triumph bar were rude, both me and my partner are 35 years old and were denied service for alcoholic drinks. As flattering as that may be for some, we don’t look under the age of 25… we’re both heavily tattooed and are two grown adults who aren’t staying with any other guests or children. It just seemed very odd. What initially annoyed me was being barked at after asking for two pints, we asked for the drinks when walking up to the bar and the first words out of his mouth was “ID????”. It would have been far more courteous to say “do you have any id on you?”, his lack of hospitality really wasn’t appreciated. I actually didn’t have any ID on me at the time which was my own fault, however I didn’t expect to be asked at a relatively remote hotel, whilst being the grand age of 35. It was a really shame as we were hoping to order food alongside our drinks. We ended up driving into Hinckley to have dinner.
Moving onto the hotel room… the room seemed quite tired and needed a good spruce up! There wasn’t any heating located near the bed so it was a bit chilly. The room came with just two pillows, x1 per person - we called down to reception for two more and they were brought up to us. The pillows weren’t a huge issue, but I thought I’d mention it as usually there’s a couple of spares in the wardrobe of most hotels.
The carpet in the room had food stains all over them, and the bath tub and headboard looked like someone had gone to town with a bottle to it as there was big gouges taken out of them, that looked like the bottom of a glass bottle.
