Generally a positive and enjoyable overall experience when attending our Annual Conference
Pros:

Very friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. Comfortable bed.
Ample car parking. Conference Dinner and Lunch - Nicely presented and well served with very acceptable House Wines. Starters and desserts - Very tasty. Imaginative vegetable compilations.
Attending yet another Annual Conference at the hotel - Generally a positive and enjoyable overall experience.

Cons:

Good point - What could have been "even" better! Just a few observations or - How to go from "Good" to "Great".
The Room - Small matters but important
Toilet seat underside - Splashed and stained with stale urine. Steam iron did not steam or get really hot enough to iron a cotton shirt.
Position of handle in shower? Should be near to shower entance. Grabbing the glass screen to exit the shower - Not good.
Bar Prices?
I attend many Conferences and anticipate having to pay a lttle more for drinks and bar meals however prices at this hotel were rather excessive in my view.
Public Areas?
After several years attending our Annual Conference, parts of the hotel are just starting to look a little "tired" with dated decor. Never good to find worn carpet.
Conference Dinner?
The roast lamb served was tasty however only in small parts. A good portion however unfortunately mostly rather dry and overcooked for all on the Table.

Strong Hospitality and Bed Comfort, Yet Facilities Feel Dated
Pros:

The reception and dining staff were consistently welcoming, friendly, and professional. However, the bar service was less accommodating. When we requested a mixed drink order, the staff member implied it would be an issue, which was confusing given we clearly stated we were happy to pay whatever the cost.

The leisure facilities were excellent. Although time slots must be booked, it is a pleasant area to relax and take children for a swim. Given the hot weather and the high temperatures in the rooms, access to a cool pool was particularly appreciated.

Cons:

The hotel would benefit from refurbishment, as the property feels quite dated. At a minimum, new carpets and fresh paint would significantly improve the guest experience. For the price charged, the overall condition of the property was not pleasant.

Given the room rate, I would expect air conditioning and a mini fridge to be provided as standard. While the receptionist was very accommodating in allowing us to use the hotel fridge, this required repeated trips to and from reception to retrieve items for our children, which was inconvenient.

Breakfast was satisfactory and provided everything needed for a good start to the day. However, the room service experience was disappointing, with incomplete orders and meals that arrived cold and lacking in quality.

Consistent, clean and convenient.
Pros:

Large, secure car park, very comfy room, convenient location for CBS Arena and plentiful breakfast. What's not to like?

Cons:

Just sad I didn't get to use the pool. The booking in system does make this trickier although I can see why it is necessary.

Spacious room in a convenient location
Pros:

Lovely spacious room. There was plenty of parking, and the hotel is located close to the motorway, which meant we could easily access the CBS arena. We were given a voucher for money off dinner.

Cons:

One of the lifts was out of order on our first day and on the second day, both were out of action. It would be good to have information regarding how the lockers in the leisure area operated. Did you need a £1 or did they operate with a code? Also, having to book a time slot for the pool put me off using it.

Very clean hotel, friendly staff, lovely smell in lobby areas, comfortable beds & pillows
Pros:

Cleanliness, friendliness of staff, facilities

Cons:

On asking in the bar area about allergens the QR code was out of date and didn’t reflect the menu. The young lady that was serving me didnt reslly have a clue and kept asking me if it was gluten when it was egg, I kept repeating myself. In the end another member of staff served me, was very attentive and found out if the dish my daughter chose was indeed egg free, and made alternatives to the bun it was served in, so all good in the end. It is so important that all staff are allergens trained before working in/with food.

The room (385) was really hot, even with no fire/heating on.

The room only had towels/cups for 2 people even though there were 3 of us in there.
