Alexis at the front desk made our family’s stay absolutely amazing! She went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable, welcomed, and truly taken care of. Our entire team was so grateful for how accommodating and supportive she was, especially with youth athletes in our group who were competing in a very important tournament.

Her kindness and hospitality made a real difference in our experience. We will absolutely stay at Homewood Suites North Carlsbad again—and specifically because of Alexis. She is truly an asset to the hotel and deserves recognition for the way she takes care of her guests!

Great location, clean big room

We were there for a soccer tournament and this was one of the tournament hotels. The location was great, loved the separate bedroom, also had a pull out sofa sleeper, laundry facilities , kitchen with microwave, stove top & full fridge. Our room had a shower but we heard some rooms had tubs. The atmosphere was friendly, had a fitness room, pool. The digital key was handy & breakfast was included daily. When the dining room was full, paper plates were provided- I enjoyed eating in the room also. We enjoyed being able to check in early after our red eye flight and we picked our room from the available ones. We had a great time/ would stay again.

We just stayed here for almost a week for my daughter’s soccer team travel for a tournament. The rooms were spacious, clean, and well furnished. The best part of the experience was the staff. They were very welcoming and flexible with our large group, helping us to be comfortable and making this experience memorable for the girls. Mahalo!

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Homewood Suites by Hilton Carlsbad.

I have been a loyal Hilton Honors member for more than a decade and currently hold Diamond status. I used my Hilton Honors points to stay for the weekend because I was burying my mother the following day. During an already difficult and emotional time, I expected a comfortable stay and at least a basic level of hospitality. Instead, I felt as though I was treated like someone who had just joined Hilton Honors.

Before arriving, I selected a room on the third floor and completed mobile check-in specifically to accommodate my PTSD and help me feel more comfortable. However, when I physically arrived, the front-desk receptionist appeared unfamiliar with my reservation and checked me into a room on the first floor. I explained that I was a Diamond member and had deliberately selected a third-floor room, but my preference was still not honored.

The room itself was also inadequate. The furniture was chipped and damaged, and the room had hard flooring with no carpet, making it feel cold and uncomfortable compared with what I expected from a Homewood Suites property.

To make matters worse, the receptionist also failed to provide the two complimentary bottles of water offered to Diamond members.

I understand that mistakes happen, but the overall lack of attention, recognition, empathy, and customer service was unacceptable. I was using my points during one of the most difficult weekends of my life, and Homewood Suites Carlsbad certainly made me feel anything but welcomed.

I am shocked that this is how Homewood Suites treats a Diamond member who has remained loyal to Hilton for more than ten years.

Horrible Hotel: Bad Customer Service from all hotel staff, but Paula and three of the housekeepers. If you are on the first floor the cars park with their headlights directly into your window. The windows only open 4 inches on every floor. You can hear the people below you and all around you. All the doors are so heavy you can hear each and every door slam on your floor and below or above you. The breakfast is overly crowded downstairs. You must have a car to go anywhere-- there are no restaurants, or anything in walking distance. They don't call or tell you when you have a package delivered, thus I had an overnight package they had for a week. You will see a ton of Amazon packages behind the front desk, they just ignore them. The staff DESPERATLY needs customer service training. It is owned by a company that thinks saying, "Welcome Back" is enough customer service. The carts to carry your luggage are flimsy, 1/2 size cheap carts that don't help much at all. The refridgerator is 3/4 size. There are air and heats units, the cheap kind in the windows, that are loud! Find a VRBO in Carlsbad instead of this property. You'll be happier.

This is our first stay since the renovation. The room was bright, clean, and comfortable. Staff always greeted us. Breakfast was delicious. The staff kept the area clean and the food trays full.

Alexis checked me in. She was cheerful and explained all of the amenities. We checked out a few days early as we needed to get home. I apologize for not getting the front desk clerk's name (Saturday 6/27 aound 11:00). She was also helpful in getting my reservation check out changed

This Homewood Suites location is absolutely perfect! It is close to retail, the beach and Legoland! You can go to many local restaurants to eat or go to Costco and get items to eat in your room. The kitchenette is just right to heat up items.

Excellent location. Very nice staff. Superb FREE breakfast. Paula, one of the managers, let me use the hotel's scanner for some important work. Quiet office to take calls. Would definitely stay here again.

Special shoutouts to: Alexis, Chris, Betty, Paula, Jadet, and another employee whose name I can't remember (she shared some Twix chocolate bars with me).

Facilities and hotel stay were great!. Easy check in and out process.

This hotel is hands down the best for a family vacation. The front desk staff was very friendly and made the check in process seamless and efficient. Our room was perfect in every way. It was just what my family needed to enjoy our time in California. Very clean and had all we needed. The location was amazing. Little off the freeway so it’s nice and quiet. Value all over was perfect. The whole hotel felt like home away from home. We will definitely be staying here and no where else. Thank you so much for a great experience and making our vacation that much more special.

DO NOT STAY HERE if you can avoid it. They recently went thru renovations and some rooms are still having issues with chemical smells due to carpet glue and other renovation issues. The hotel was done in phases which sometimes helps but we were on the 3rd floor ( Room 306 ) and this room was bad , not acceptable. I tried to work it out , they were willing to move to another room but I wish I just didn't book it now. My son is autistic and it would be a lot and he also has an issue with the smell and I think now its a moot point. They were not willing to adjust the rate or anything because the GM felt it wasn't necessary since they said they did renovations but were fully aware of the issues that can come and specifically with this room and were NOT willing to do anything to further help so now I am most likely going to have to move. So BE WARNED to check the rooms and I would try to avoid this property for several more months until the smells have had more time to dissipate.
