Pros:

If you need to be in South Woodham Ferrers then the hotel is central.
The staff were pleasant.

Cons:

My problem with the hotel was mostly the noise. Lots of people noise outside after the bar kicks out at the weekend and also the fire doors inside the hotel in the corridors make so much noise so you hear everything that goes on. The rooms seemed more modern as the room numbers got higher. The breakfast is also either a fry up or cereal. It would have been nicety have a few more options such as fruit.
We also specifically asked not to have the 4 poster bedroom with the fabric all over and were given it anyway.

Will stay again
Pros:

Our second time staying, and will stay again. Rooms were clean and functional, staff were friendly, helpful and very tolerant of a hyper 2 year old. Just round the corner from shops and the whole area felt very safe.

Overall good value for money.
Pros:

The hotel is a pub/hotel. The rooms are budget and looking a little tired. The mattress wasn't the best I have slept on but wasn't the worst either. The noise from the guest's in the next room was quite loud. The bathroom was ok but again is in need of a refurb.
Having said that, the staff were friendly. The breakfast was of good quality, with plenty on offer.
Overall for the price paid it was good value.

Cons:

Room could do with refurbishment. And the noise in the adjoining room traveled through.

Für eine Nacht ok, würden wir nicht nochmal buchen.
Pros:

Betten waren für uns gut, alles andere so lala, dafür eben günstig.

Cons:

Überraschend unfreundlicher Empfang, dass wir fast lachen mussten. Es kam nach kurzer Wartezeit eine Person sichtlich genervt zur Rezeption: "Name? - How long will you say?" - fast wie an der Grenzkontrolle, nur der Grenzer war netter. :D
Auch im Supermarkt nebenan war man sehr unhöflich. Vielleicht mag dieses an sich niedliche Dörfchen keine Touristen? Wir haben es mit Humor genommen, für eine Nacht war es ok, wir waren aber froh, dass wir eh den nächsten Tag weitergereist sind.
Einrichtung ist schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen, wie es die Fotos schon vermuten ließen. Alles etwas hellhörig. Dafür hat man eine günstige Übernachtung. Würden wir leider trotzdem nicht nochmal buchen wollen.
Frühstück haben wir nicht in Anspruch genommen.
