Adina Apartment Hotel Berlin Checkpoint Charlie

Staff were helpful, flat was spacious and clean and extremely quiet. Highly recommend

The location was very good (although keep in mind that the current roadworks in front of the property can cause some dust and noise). The room was spacious, the beds were very comfortable, and the small kitchen was better equipped than expected. The only downside was that the room's cooling was inadequate, which was very disappointing since we specifically booked a room with air conditioning during a heatwave when temperatures reached 39°C.

There was no daily housekeeping, but you could exchange towels and request any additional supplies if needed. Reception staff was very kind. Storing of baggs before checkin time was also possible.
Not very warm water in the pool was a great refreshment in those hot days.

Very friendly staff especially Johanna, and one other gal (with the red hair) who’s name we unfortunately did not get. But they were very nice. Great proximity to Checkpoint Charlie (it’s in the name after all, right?) - but it really was close to that and many other Berlin landmarks. Good but repetitive breakfast. Seems like all the hotels serve the same stuff and even have the same coffee or juice dispensers. And seriously - watch the rocks in the scrambled eggs. The rocks are apparently for the hard boiled eggs but were used for the scrambled eggs. Oops. At least rinse the pan out. Nice, refreshing pool that was great for dealing with the heat. Nice courtyard with lots of seating & hammocks. We got the larger one bedroom apartment so we were able to do laundry. Of the Adina’s we’ve stayed at this trip (there have been multiple ones), this one had the best shower pressure and hot water. Underground parking was convenient. But that’s where the good stuff ends…

We were a party of five and rented a two-bedroom apartment (Room 111) for our stay from June 25–27. We specifically chose this hotel because it advertises air-conditioned apartments, but the air conditioning in our room was not working at all.

The apartment felt like a furnace, making it unbearably hot. We stayed for two nights and barely slept because of the excessive heat. When we reported the problem, the only solution offered was a single fan, which was unstable on its stand and completely inadequate for cooling a large two-bedroom apartment occupied by five people.

We traveled all the way from the USA and spent a significant amount of money to visit Berlin, looking forward to this vacation. Instead of enjoying our time, we were exhausted from two sleepless nights. It completely ruined our stay in Berlin and put a damper on what should have been a memorable vacation.

For the price charged for this apartment, I expected basic comfort. A functioning air conditioning system is not a luxury—it’s a necessity, especially when the hotel advertises that the rooms are air-conditioned. If the air conditioning is not working, guests should be informed before arrival or offered another room.

Unfortunately, the poor handling of this issue and the lack of a meaningful solution made this one of the most disappointing hotel stays we’ve experienced. I cannot recommend this property and would not stay here again.

May be the location

I set the AC to the max, but the room is still not cool. I would say the room is warm. Not really comfortable staying here. I was sweating. They have to repair the AC.
The room is spacious but the cleaness is not the best one
