For the money paid, the overall experience was adequate.

Disappointing, but staff did their best
Pros:

Cart drive back to our car when we left was fun.

When we arrived, there were yellow stains on the new bedding 🥴

Someone came to change the bedding twice (second cover was stained too) after we asked. We were locked out of our room on the first night because the door battery was flat.
We sat on the floor outside the room for over 30 mins until security arrived, who opened the door, but we couldn't leave the room again until someone had been to actually change the door battery.
The little TV has like 5 channels, and no option for YouTube at least, which comes standard in most hotels these days.
The food at the restaurants was below average.
When dining in at DaVinci's, we were given our add on sauce in a plastic tub. The chicken tenders and schnitzel were good though.
The steak at Black Sheep was unevenly cooked, not very pleasant.
Restaurants & Sattelite bar don't have a great variety of non alcoholic drinks. 2 I tried to order was Sprite zero and savannah 0.0 (non alc) both were not available.

The visit to the spa left us underwhelmed. It wasn't great, my appointed therapist seemed newly qualified - the massage was not worth the R600 / 30 mins paid for it.

We wanted to enjoy the pools, but it was filled with day visitors making it very crowded and unpleasant so we never got to enjoy that.

We needed an attendant for every second machine at the casino. Either to remove a card, load cash, bring a fan (coz aircon is non existent in some areas). Most machines are in the smoking area, yet the smell of smoke came right through the vents into the non smoking area.

Not worth the rate per night.
I think the Hotel should either do very necessary upgrades, or charge a lesser rate per night.

Pros:

The breakfast was excellent. The hot pools great. The hotel needs a good clean and an update. Kids running and screaming through the corridors does not for a quiet comfortable stay make.

A Relaxing Stay with a Few Things That Could Be Improved
Pros:

We recently stayed at the Caledon Hotel & Spa for two nights and overall had a pleasant experience, with the hot springs definitely being the highlight of our stay.

The reception staff were fantastic throughout our stay — always friendly, welcoming, accommodating and willing to assist. When we arrived, we were initially allocated a room quite a long way down the hallway from reception and the restaurants. We requested to be moved closer to reception, and our request was fulfilled immediately, which we really appreciated. We soon realised, however, why we had originally been placed so far away! Some guests can be rather noisy when returning to their rooms late at night, although this is, of course, no fault of the hotel.

The room itself was lovely and comfortable, but a few small details were missing. There was no iron or ironing board, no extra blanket, and although there was a tea and coffee-making facility, there were no teaspoons. Our towels were changed the following morning, but unfortunately the replacement towels were damp, which was disappointing.

One thing we wish we had known before booking was that the hot springs are closed on Mondays. Fortunately, the Victorian Bath was still open, and we thoroughly enjoyed it — it was fantastic and certainly helped make up for some of the other shortcomings.

The breakfast was lovely and tasty, and we really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, our experience at the Black Sheep Restaurant was less impressive. The steak we ordered was tough and, in our opinion, definitely not worth the price. We expected better, particularly from a restaurant of this standard.

That said, the hot springs are a wonderful attraction and, for us, were the highlight of the stay. The fantastic reception staff also made a real difference to our experience. Their friendly and accommodating attitude was greatly appreciated.

Rooms are very basic. Limited info about hotel facilities in room i.e how to use tv, restaurants etc.
Also no place at some of the pools to place towels etc.

Compared to other 4 star hotels I have visited, this certainly was disappointing.
Pros:

I liked the location. The breakfast was mediocre. It was cold and some of the empty dishes on display did not get refilled. I found the overall demeanor of the staff serving / making the breakfast (omelet/eggs) counter not very welcoming. Many of the available yogurts and fruit were nearly empty limiting choice.

Cons:

There was no porter to assist us with our luggage to the downstairs rooms. The elevator was out of order.
The shower in the bathtub is a liability and the rooms certainly can do with an upgrade.
Early morning staff were noisy and completing unimportant tasks.
