Great location Friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful room with view of castle lovely breakfast
This is a marvellous hotel. From the minute we entered we were greeted with such a warm welcome. The staff were so so friendly, couldn't do enough for you the room, which we got upgraded too, was fabulous. The food and dining area were real nice. Lobby was lovely and relaxing
Food experience. The soup in the Boann cafe today awful. The young staff have no training whatsoever with very little manners . Is there no training or senior staff on duty to supervise. Nobody engages with you. Unfriendly and not attentive. They seem to have minimal experience of serving people.
This stay in my trip was one of the ones that I was most excited about. However, the stay was biggest let down and in a big way. The positive...great location, good breakfast and great staff. Our first room assigned was one of the most depressing I had ever been in...tucked into a very obscure corner at the end of a hall with literally a window the size of a lower level basement well above eye level. Travelling with my elderly mother, there was no way for her to even see out the window and for me being 173cm tall struggled to look out. They accommodated a room change to a regular room upon my request. Next morning, to our surprise, we learnt there is significant construction at the hotel taking place that continued well into the evening (2115 to be exact) to again my surprise. My beef is the fact that there is no mention of construction upon check in or on their website anywhere!!!!! So if you are expecting a quit stay in a lovely historic community please be aware of going construction that was never mentioned and ensure your room isn't a 'after thought' room..lol.
Location good for me , visiting family near by . Like home from home !
I like the property
The breakfast and room was clean and spacious
Everything was perfect
What a great hotel! This wonderful hotel has everything. Spacious rooms, great views, covered parking available, and wonderful dining. We explored the entire town and used this as our home base.
Had the pleasure to stay in the hotel for family wedding and everything was top class very helpful staff and would recommend the hotel to everyone planning a break in county Meath I will be back
We visited Trim Castle Hotel on the last night of our trip to Ireland as it is only 40 minutes or so from the Dublin airport and the setting looked nice.
The hotel itself is modern, but has lots of charming elements. It is directly across the street from the castle, and by that I mean the castle itself is about 50 feet in front of the hotel. We splurged on a room (No. 208) which directly overlooks the castle and has a large balcony. The room and view were absolutely outstanding. While the hotel is across from the castle, perhaps on 10 rooms actually overlook it, so ask if that is important to you. The walk to the castle entrance should take something like a minute, and there are extensive and attractive grounds to walk around.
Parking is included in the adjacent lot, which we viewed as a major plus.
A couple of notes: While we have highlighted our room, some drawings in the lobby suggest that they may be converting it to some kind of spa, so book soon and ask questions. Second, as the reviews on this site reflect, this is a major site for weddings and receptions -- that was no issue the night we were staying, but we could see that it might be for others. Lastly, we had several interactions with the hotel staff and none were particularly friendly, which stood in contrast to the warm Irish hospitality we had seen elsewhere. Maybe it was just a bad day for everyone.
In any case, this is a unique hotel with an equally unique location.
Location, staff and Trim
Bathroom was poor
The hotel should be avoided if they are booked with weddings. You will Not be able to sleep. The dinner was superb and the manager at this hotel is excellent.
Very spacious room with balcony with great view
We love Trim
Castle it’s ambience ,staff ,food
Our room was quite close to wedding venue so I could hear the music until it stopped after two am and couldn’t sleep
Food was lovely & the staff were very friendly
Everything was satisfactory
Great location with friendly and helpful staff.
The spa facilities, one of the main reasons why I booked this hotel, were out of use due to upgrade works in that area.
The hotel room was ok but way too hot to sleep with no air conditioning and only a fan that circulated the hot air.
