I would recommend the hotel, but check the spa before you book it just to make sure it suits you.
Pros:

Lovely hotel and surroundings, quiet place, staff was friendly. I asked for an oat latte at the reception it was before 6 o’clock in the morning and was served with one. It was amazing because I get up early.

Cons:

Spa. It was outdated and kind of far from the main building. Also the hot tub was for 2 people, but they still took 3 of us and charged for 3. Never informed us that their hot tubs are for 2 people.

Beautiful hotel but disappointing junior suite detracted from the stay.
Pros:

The hotel itself is a beautiful building and the historical talk at 1100 was wonderful. The breakfast was very good.

Cons:

The junior suite was very average. The sitting room was almost unusable due to the TV being hard mounted on the wall but not facing the seating. The first floor room was on a main hallway next to the front desk and was very noisy especially late at night and early in the morning. Especially for the very high price the junior suite was unimpressive.

I would definitely go back to stay at Lough Eske again and would plan to go back to the basement bar for dinner and drin
Pros:

The castle was gorgeous and the grounds were immaculate and beautifully maintained. Every single member of the staff was professional and friendly, especially the bartender in the lower bar who made me the perfect Old Fashioned. The food servers in that same bar were wonderful ( the food was great too!!), and the man who chatted us up at the front door for us and people at the check-in desk all made us feel so welcomed. And our room was amazing!! The room was outside the castle in the old stables, I believe, and although you had to get a little wet when it rained, it wasn’t a problem (hotel provides umbrellas). We stayed in room 255, which was very spacious. I would request the same room again next time. Just perfect!

Amazing stay :)
Pros:

Breakfast and dinner were great. Lovely menu in the Cedars restaurant.
Were totally surprised with an upgrade to the Donegal suite for our anniversary which was a very nice gesture. Staff were all great and friendly. Will definitely be back.

Pros:

The Castle and its surroundings were beautiful. The breakfast was excellent enjoyed it very much.

Cons:

What was disappointing was the facilities in the health and wellness area. There was no cold shower when you came out of the sauna or steam room. The hydrotherapy show was out of order also. And no cold drinking water out of the water fountain. The steam room in the swimming pool area was also out of order.
Also the room we had was a courtyard room so there was two ways in and out of the room. But one of the doors wouldn't lock because it was warped.
Just not expected from a 5 star hotel

My wife and I stayed in the courtyard room 154 and there was no heating on in the room. It was cold all afternoon and evening, we where given a portable heater which slightly helped....😤

Pros:

Staff were lovely - particularly Shea, who started our stay off in the most incredible way and instantly made our kids feel so special.
The grounds are beautiful and we enjoyed walking through the trails and gardens.
