Pros:

The staff in lough eske are comparable to nowhere. They go above and beyond to make you feel so welcome and comfortable! The hotel itself is beautiful with stunning gardens and the location is great for a base to go explore the south of Donegal.

Cons:

It was very hot in our bedroom but again with the style of room and the fact the hotel is old it was going to be. There was a fan out in our room which was very thoughtful but of little relief I'm the hot weather. Not something that the hotel could help.

Beautiful location for a lovely, calm hotel with stunning grounds.
Pros:

The room and bed was very comfy. I appreciated the water, the big towels and the fan as the room got warm. The salmon and eggs on Guinness bread for breakfast was delicious. The planting in the gardens was beautiful and we loved the board walk down by the lake where we stood and watched a heron. The staff member who helped us with our bags and taking us to our rooms was a delightful older gentleman from the area - he does you proud.

Cons:

the service at breakfast was slow. Had to ask three times for our coffees as we waited and waited for our order and then nothing appeared - far too many staff not taking the initiative but they were very pleasant. The broken slats on the blinds need fixing and the shower could do with more power but these are very small things. The signage for parking and hotel reception was not obvious from the back car park. I don't need to wear a tabard on a bike as I am not a toddler but it's great that you have bikes.

Beautiful castle set in a tranquil setting.
Pros:

The grounds are stunning. The staff were all really lovely. The food and drinks were fab! The pool was great and it was lovely to have bikes to cycle.

Cons:

It was lovely having the bikes but it would have been better if you could take them off the estate and cycle into town or around the lake.
