My wife and I had a wonderful stay in the Treehouse at Castlewood Cottages! The cabin was charming, cozy, and full of character, making it a truly unique place to stay in Big Bear. It was clean, comfortable, and tucked into a peaceful setting that made it easy to relax and unwind. What really made our stay exceptional was the outstanding hospitality. The staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and genuinely caring, going above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Their kindness and attention to detail made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. If you’re looking for a memorable mountain getaway with excellent service and a one-of-a-kind atmosphere, I highly recommend Castlewood Cottages. We would gladly stay here again!

Relaxation vacation from Hell

Easy to get to enclose to town and the people that work there were very nice, although there was a huge communication barrier because we had to speak to a phone to speak to them in their language and nothing was clear at all. But they were very nice.

Cons:

I didn’t like that. It was hot as hell in the room. It looked filthy. There was no AC in the room. It was a fan that was wobbly and ready to fall down the bathtub. Look like it they changed us from one room to another upgrading us, but we had to move back to the other room the next day so I don’t know why the hell I would book a room that I would change rooms every single day the second room that we got was the pirate crab in and it was very nice and it was spacious and it was comfortable. They put us back to the Cleopatra room because that did not work the air nor the Internet and the second day they sent us back to that room. We immediately began to argue with each other and we were going as a vacation as a couple the property manager were very nice but huge communication bearer they did not understand us. We did not understand them. We were talking into a phone and phone was not translating properly. I would not recommend this property at all. I don’t know why I booked for two nights and I had to move rooms two times that was ridiculous. They gave us no consolation for anything being affected being bothered the Cleopatra room. I do not recommend for anyone to stay there and if you’re expecting to get service, good luck on that because again the communication bearer is horrible, but the people were very nice if that makes any sense I would not recommend this hotel at all. It looks like better rooms around the area, more cozy, and more spacious and much cleaner.

The room was beautifully decorated it was a great experience I almost didn’t want to leave to do other things and just stay in the room the whole day. The staff was also very friendly. I highly recommend this stay.

The stay was amazing. The rooms were fun, there a lot to do nearby, and the staff was very hospitable.
Pros:

The room itself was very nice. The theme was very well thought out and the decor and furnishings were exceptional. These rooms are a very nice change from a standard boring hotel. I liked how close the cottages were to things like The Village area where there’s lots of shopping and dining. The couple that run the cottages were very hospitable and nice people.

The property was very charming. Everything in the area was within walking distance. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

Cons:

The only complaint is the lack of AC. Some of the cottages had a front window that opened, but ours did not. There was one fan provided, but really could have used at least one more. The cabin was a little stuffy from early afternoon until the evening.
