Rooms/ cabins feel very secluded & private, beautifully furnished, surrounded by plants and wildlife. Restaurant is great, breakfast is lovely. Much better & more local style food than we found at any other hotel/resort restaurants we ended up eating at. The pool area is delightful, really well laid out for privacy so different groups can have their own areas. It would be a perfect setting for a pool party! The location is perfect for all the nearby forest/ volcano based activities and for getting to Soufrière and nearby beaches. I would definitely advise hiring a car so you have more freedom to explore independently; things look close together on a map but it’s very hilly and obviously very hot so walking anywhere takes much longer than predicted.
This is not really a resort, it doesn’t feel like a resort, the clientele were not “resort types”… which is a big positive in our book! It is eco-luxury accommodation ie. as luxurious as one can reasonably expect whilst staying in the middle of gorgeous rainforest and trying to minimise impact on that environment.
I would advise bringing your own mosquito net and make sure it’s the right size for the bed (we were a bit squeezed in under ours). The nets provided on the four poster look very pretty & romantic but they don’t fully close so they don’t keep mozzies out.
Also, not a negative but useful to know: the frogs are LOUD at night and they don’t stop til sunrise so we were very glad of our earplugs (we’ve slept in other jungles before but never experienced a wildlife chorus quite like this one!)
Location in the rainforest is magical but rather remote. The historic cottages provide simple, spacious and clean accommodation with outdoor showers. Staff are friendly and helpful. Meals are adequate but not fancy. Two swimming pools are very pleasant. Interesting paths and trails through the beautiful rainforest.
The old cottages and bungalows set in a humid rainforest require more maintenance than was evident, and the furniture lacked the character and charm of the buildings.
Being secluded in a tropical forest
Excellent service
They need to rotate dinner selections
The location is unbeatable!
The food was abysmal, several items on the small menu were never available, no cappuccinos at all because they ran out of capsules, the chicken and fish tasted as if they were taken out of the freezer and put into the microwave. But prices like in a New York restaurant.
The food was excellent
The wifi, and not anything to do onsite
Nice jungle-living where you really get the feeling of living on an old (still partially active) plantation. Food at breakfast was limited but very good. Restaurant in the evening, pricy (but everything is on st Lucia and Barbados), but the food is really great and the staff were lovely!
Our twin-cottage was great with two big bedrooms but some of the cottages we walked past looked a bit run-down; same goes for parts of ours as well. They really need to freshen up the interiors a bit. A bit of paint would do wonders and particularly in our cottage they really need to change the small kitchen.
Very relaxing peaceful and close to the island attractions
The ambience, the room and the staff were excellent. Fantastic place to spend my 60th birthday. Staff were welcoming and very attentive. Brilliant breakfasts and top chocolate cocktails by Leiandra
Only small downside is in relation to proximity to other areas. Taxis are available yet unable to walk anywhere. I’d hire a ca car next time. (Yet if you just want to chill then perfect)
Quaint and quirky - owned and run by local people I believe - we chose it for this reason over Hotel chocolat
Loved our plunge pool. Bed very comfy. Nice birthday welcome on bed in room
We really enjoyed our chocolate making tour - thanks Clinton and Rosemary 🥰
Breakfast was just ok - nothing to write home about.
It’s natural habitat and amazing morning sounds
