The staff was very helpful. We had two room, one for the first night and a second room on the ground floor facing the garden. The first room wasn’t as we expected (carpet floor) and a bit small. The second room was much better. We loved it.

Highly recommend staying at the Kolbe Hotel. One of the personnel arranged for a private meeting at the next store convent so we could visit the cell of St. Maximillian Kolbe, who was killed in World War II by the Nazis. This was the highlight of the trip to see his cell where he slept and studies, the chapel and relics and history of a very special Saint in our century. The hotel food was delicious, the gardens spectacular, the personnel very helpful, the rooms very adequate, and location walking distance to ancient Roman ruins and churches and restaurants.

Non è la prima volta che vado al Kolbe Hotel ed è un piacere tornarci. Le stanze sono confortevoli (non grandissime), la colazione buona con dolce e salato, il personale gentile ma soprattutto la differenza la fa la fantastica posizione centrale assolutamente tranquilla e silenziosa oltre al magnifico giardino interno, un'oasi di verde e pace.

Booked for a ‘big’ birthday stay for my wife. Well positioned hotel with a nice reception area and a beautiful quiet garden at the rear for relaxing or dining in. Warm welcome from staff and our room was as requested with views of the Palentine Hill. Sadly it was on the busy road side of the hotel where we found the traffic noise really loud and asked to be moved to a quieter room in the hotel after our first sleepless night! Reception staff sorted without a problem but sadly this meant a smaller room with the smallest shower we’ve ever seen in a ‘four’ star hotel. Aircon had a mind of its own.No birthday upgrade here! A prepaid bottle of bubbly was adorned by a ‘with compliments’ card…mmm? Breakfast was absolutely fine with a good variety of food…although a 10:30 weekend finish would have been nice. We had dinner in the garden which offers a lovely peaceful setting and excellent helpful staff when I arranged for birthday balloons at the table. Most of the food was fine although my fillet steak was a little chewy, I was offered a replacement and the staff had the cost of it removed from our bill so good service there. To be honest and given the price of rooms here I really expected a bit more from the hotel. Birthday acknowledgment was little apart from restaurant staff. Rooms are small and as previously stated the shower cubicle tiny. Bath towels were fine in size but lacked quality. Safe didn’t work and had to get sorted. Rooms are in real need of some TLC and a re-furb in my humble opinion. After discussion with the head of reception on leaving, I was pleased that she amended our bill for moving to the smaller room and noted our comments. Finally it would be wrong not to mention the staff….across all departments of the hotel they were charming, pleasant to talk to and professional in attitude….if not for them this would have been a three star review.

The location is excellent, close to the Centro Storico, but secluded and quiet. It's in the back of the Palatine Hill, and the Forum- the most incredible historlocation. The hotel is lovely and clean. We've stayed here two times already and plan on coming back when we return to Rome.

Nice room, wonderfull garden to sit, drink and eat in it. Very good locaties in Rome to visit all the highlights on foot. A very nice
and large breakfast. Also the restaurant is the place to eat, very tastefull.
But above all the kindness and helpfulness of the staff.

A lovely hotel with lovely staff in a perfect location, very close to the Forum and Circo Massimo. There is a beautiful garden and the hotel is easy to get through by taxi from both airports. Taxi prices are pre fixed.

The Hotel is ideally located if you want to be able to visit the many sites in Rome. It was clean, the breakfast options were good, quiet and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were also very friendly.

My room didn't have much of a view, a window which was partially blocked (I presume due to it being at ground floor). The facilites were ok, but basic, for example only a single socket in the whole room. No kettle either (though I wasn't necessarily expecting one). I'm sure the rooms varied and in a way it didn't make a huge difference as I was more focused on the location and that I could get a good night's sleep.

Great location & friendly staff

Stayed at Kolbe Hotel for 3 nights in April. The hotel is beautiful and in a really good location within walking distance to the majority of places of interest and plenty of restaurants in walking distance. Would recommend heading to Piazza Navona for plenty of restaurants and bars which is about a 15 minute walk.

The bar garden is very tranquil and lit up in the evenings.

All of the staff were extremely pleasant, friendly and helpful.

The breakfast was really good with lots of options.

The room was small but nicely decorated. The bathroom was a good size but the shower was very compact. It could benefit from a shelf or rack for putting shampoo etc on for customer ease.

The rooms were cleaned daily and the housekeeping staff did a really good job - the hotel was spotless throughout.

I only have 1 negative comment - the room did not have tea / coffee making facilities. After a long day our site seeing I really did miss not having the ability to have a hot drink when we got back to the room. I have since seen a comment on a review that tea making facilities were available if requested but we were never made aware of this. A notice in the rooms or advising customers of this may be useful for guests in the future.

On the whole though we had a really lovely break in Rome and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the city.
