My stay was absolute perfection, truly one of my finest hotel experiences. The hotel is composed of two elegant palazzos set within the most beautiful gardens- an oasis of calm and relaxation in bustling Florence. It was difficult to want to leave the hotel!
The staff is exceptional, especially Valentina at check in. She upgraded me as a special treat for my daughter to a stunning Renaissance suite. We felt like princesses! Valentina and all of the staff welcomed us as friends not just guests. The young men at the door were also so friendly and helpful and when we mentioned we were walking to get sandwiches, they brought us wonderful hand rowels to take with us. So thoughtful.
The suite was exquisite, and we loved the wonderful breakfast served each morning in our suite. The pastries were some of the most delicious we've ever had. We also loved eating lunch outside on the terrace, and the sole was so fresh and cooked perfectly.
Truly every interaction we had with staff was a pleasure. We can't wait to return to this heavenly hotel.
My sister wanted a special place to celebrate her 40th birthday and selected the four seasons hotel for a city break. Its a lovely haven which us a haven from the busy bustle of Florence.
Beautiful rooms, all the central areas beautifully decorated, gardens and charming staff. Breakfast on the terrace was just lovely. The hotel is an easy 20 minute walk from the city centre.
Whats always special about the Four seasons is how the staff make you feel like an individual, with their training on how to address people and learning who you are.
Special mention to Alberto our waiter at the Al fresco restaurant where my sister and I had dinner on the last evening. Very helpful and charming young man.
Thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay. The hotel set in an old palazzo is stunningly beautiful - a privilege to be there - and with lovely grounds and fantastic pool, such a benefit after a day’s sightseeing with our son.
The food was varied, and we had a fabulous meal at the well-deserved Michelin starred restaurant, where every course was a delight.
A perfect experience and we didn’t want to leave.

My husband and I were enchanted by Four Seasons Florence. It is a breathtaking Renaissance palace turned into a museum-like hotel, with magnificent gardens perfumed by orange and lemon trees, creating a true oasis of peace in the heart of Florence.
Our room was absolutely beautiful, and the food at Onde was delicious—it was such a pleasure to dine in such a beautiful atmosphere. Every detail of the experience felt thoughtfully curated.
From the moment we arrived, we were met with warmth and genuine hospitality. The reception team, the restaurant staff, and the concierge team who assisted us so friendly, fast, and personally via the WhatsApp mobile app were all incredibly professional and attentive.
We were also fortunate to meet Massimiliano Musto, the General Manager, an exceptionally gracious and remarkable person. Our heartfelt thanks go to him and his wonderful team for making our stay so unforgettable.
Quite simply, this was an 11 out of 10 experience. As a guest, you truly feel at home, and we will certainly return. :)
A beautiful property with outstanding rooms and impeccable service. Every aspect of our stay was perfect. The only disappointment was having only one day to enjoy it.
Staying here for few days to celebrate my birthday, and mixed feelings about this place
First, expectations are of course high, as a regular four seasons customer, and considering the reputation of the hotel.
The building is amazing, beauty, history and a real soul. Each area is designed to reflect the unique character of this hotel. The gardens are special, old, beautiful and are worth the trip alone. The pool area is relaxing, the bars perfect to unwind after visiting the city.
Concierge service is top notch, efficient and responsive, as you’d expect. Amenities also as per expectations. Location perfect to visit the city by walk, without being confronted to the noise and crowds.
Now, we had a couple of unpleasant experiences since checking in.
First, the room. We booked a four seasons room, supposedly the highest in the normal rooms category, and it was disappointing. Dark, tiny window, oppressing, not what you’d expect considering the standards of a four seasons or the price you’re paying.
When you book on their website, they certainly don’t show you this one, but much better options. Initially we were told that was the only room available in our category, as all others were occupied. Had to complain again to finally find 2 other rooms, And we picked one that was ok.
After the frustration and disappointment of the first one, that could have been avoided if they decided from the beginning to give us a decent room, rather than trying to push that average one to us.
Lesson number one for this establishment : they’ll try first to give the worst room in the category , then a better one if you complain.
Very very disappointing , i never faced this in years staying at four seasons all around the world. And booking directly, not via any cheaper online website. This definitely breaks the relationship.
Now that room was fixed, we decided to enjoy the rest of our stay and forget this first unpleasant situation
Comes the moment we booked dinner at Il Palagio, the Michelin restaurant of the hotel.
Issue starts from the arrival to the restaurant.
3-4 tables available, and were being offered the one next to the entrance, just in front of the kitchen and service team, isolated from the rest of the restaurant. While there are tables by the window, and others in the center of the restaurant. Had to complain again to get a proper table, and we ultimately got one by the window, that was empty and available.
Isn’t the staff trained for these simple things?
Creating frustration and disappointment again, for simple things that can be addressed by a minimum of decency or four season service standards.
Dinner goes well, we pick one of the tasting menus, attention is given to details during.
dinner. And the bill comes. But they forgot the mignardises and chess chocolates, offered to the other tables around us. When I asked the waiter, he said “Ooooh it comes after the bill”…
In 30 years visiting Michelin star restaurants, I never experienced any mignardises coming after the bill. So either this needs to be fixed, or he just forgot, and should have said “sorry I forgot”, which would have been more appropriate and more than ok…
Again a disappointment that lead us to leave right away.
Not sure if these are the standards of the hotel today, and hoping the stay Will improve. But so far, definitely not worth the hype and expectations we had while booking here
