Location

This was our second time staying in Minori at this hotel. It is the perfect location to explore surrounding areas without being crowded and paying the higher prices at the more touristy areas. The ferry and bus services are both good and only a short walk away. The staff at this hotel are exceptional, everyone from the Reception, Bar, Breakfast staff and the cleaners were all friendly and professional. A special mention to the lovely lady with the glasses at the pool bar who looks after everyone so well and always made time for a chat. Our room was small but perfect for us and had everything we needed including decent air conditioning. You do need to book the pool but we didn’t ever have an issue getting a booking. The prices at the pool bar were cheaper than England so we were happy with that. The decor in the main areas of the hotel are a bit dated but it was in keeping with the style of the building. I think the restaurant would be much busier if it was outside and slightly less formal but breakfast had plenty of choice and some lovely coffee. There were a few times when it was a little noisy at night or early in the morning but that was down to some guests not respecting others by being loud rather than road noise. We had a room to the side of the pool and it was pretty quiet. All in all, we had a great stay and would absolutely recommend this lovely hotel to others. For the best food in Minori try Janerios by the fountain for excellent seafood and hospitality.

That’s where the fun ends really.
First major issue we encountered- the beds are extremely hard, and the covers are thin and scratchy. I actually found a beach lounger more comfortable. The noise from the road is unbearable, the balcony doors don’t insulate any sound so you have from about 1am-4am to sleep before you’re woken up by the sound of a scooter zipping up the road or a lorry early hours of the morning. I genuinely believe you’re better off paying a little more and getting a hotel with a better location or you will struggle to get any sleep whatsoever. The cherry on the cake was being put in a corner room next to the lift and store cupboard, so the sound of the staff wheeling trolleys over the tiles was extremely loud. The good thing is this just ended up blending into the sound over a scooter revving at 6000 RPM outside.

The breakfast is very average with very little hot food options and the rest just wholesale pastries ect.

The pool facilities are extremely small with only about 10 loungers requiring you to have to pre book either in the morning or afternoon but we found this not really an issue as you’re best just walking to the beachfront and paying for a lounger and a better view. We found this Italian family likes to take up most of the pool area, I’m presuming they live or have some sort of villa attached to the hotel?. Not allowed your own food or drink by the hotel pool either so you’re forced to buy the very average drinks/snacks.

Minori a bit of a logistical nightmare. Busses extremely packed and ferries need pre booking to ensure you get a spot, that’s if they don’t get cancelled and you’re left stranded and forced to wait hours for a taxi back from amalfi or positano(could cost €200+) or another ferry in a couple hours time.

-room was clean, modern. Air con worked nicely. Cleaning service daily. Clean towels daily

- food was good. I liked the way they separated the fruit and the salad items so you could make your own sald and fruit salad. Churros , pancakes and nutella every morning seemed to be a hit with all the kids. They also had chips at every single meal including breakfast which is good for the fussy eating kids. I think however they should a designated kids section for lunch and dinner and they should consistently put out the essentials like fish fingers and chicken nuggets at every meal. I also would have like to have seen a few more meat options. Usually there are a few chicken dishes inmost hotels at every meal but they seemed to only do chicken legs and wings. The desserts were quality. The best i have had abroad and I have stayed in many hotels.

- The pool was a lovely size and perfect temperature. It wasnt cold at all. It was however so busy that you couldnt really go for a proper swim as there were people everywhere with inflatables and playing ball games so its not the best pool for persons who slecifically want to swim around. The baby pool was nice as it was deep enough for the little kids to still sit down and play etc and all the kids seemed to love the splash park and the water slides.

- the sunbed situation is an issue. You have to queue at 8am to reserve a bed if you want one in the morning and then if you all go to breakfast as a family and no one stays on the beds you risk the lifeguards coming around and whipping your belongings and towels off. Really this is the hotels problem and they need to put some extra beds out. I personally would prefer to be laying next to a stranger, than to have no sunbed at all

- bar service is the biggest issue. During the day there is a bar open outside and another inside. There's one staff member on each bar so you queue for 45 mins for a drink or food. Lots of people weren't bothering because of the queue so it seems the hotel coukd actually make more money by having a 2nd staff member on each bar. We would have had many more drinks if we didnt waste so much of our holiday in a bar queue

Hermoso el hotel

The pool and bar attendant was absolutely fantastic, the rooms and room service are excellent , the restaurant staff are excellent , the old man and family that lay about the hotel without engaging with guest need to find somewhere else to hang about even if they do live there as their attitude towards guest makes you wonder why they are in the industry 🤔🤔
