Pros:

Great hotel, situated out in the countryside not far from Ellesmere Port.

Friendly staff.

Plenty of good outdoor space, a bar and a games room with a dart board and pool table.

Comfortable room with aircon but also windows that opened. Quiet rural location, so no noise.

Breakfast was great. Good quality ingredients in the Full English.

Restuarant was closed on the first night I stayed (Sunday), but easy to order from many local takeaways. Food on the second night of my stay was good. I may have only ordered the burger, but it was a good one and the chunky chips were epic.

Phone signal wasn't great, but hotel WiFi was free and good.

I work in the area a couple of times a year and am glad that I have found this hotel for future stays.

I was really very well looked after.
Pros:

I loved everything about this hotel. The breakfast had plenty of choice with food cooked to order.
A good choice on the evening menu also cooked to order. It’s a very interesting building and the gardens are lovely. Most of all, it’s the staff. I was travelling alone and everyone was so kind and helpful to me and I feel they went above and beyond.

Cons:

Me and my partner enjoyed the hospitality, we were made to feel welcome. The hotel is beautiful inside and out. We really enjoyed the games room, so much to do in there it was great. We had breakfast the next morning and the food was delicious and made a great start to the day for my partners birthday. Thank you so much and we will be back again soon. A really big shout out to Helen, she’s has a lovely personality and so welcoming

Not recommended
Cons:

The room was not as describe on booking.com, there were no lifts even though they state that they have lifts to all floors. The bed was very soft and a very old worn mattress, the bathroom had soap or body wash the windows were old sash windows and would not stay open. The room was also dirty as if it needed a deep clean, carpets were very old and looked dirty. When i complained I was told that's what I booked and the attitude was go elsewhere. So we had to leave and find somewhere else to stop.

Definitely coming back
Pros:

Lovely remote location to stay in for a few nights, close enough to Liverpool with a good train line and yet far enough for nice and quiet rest.
We visited during a heat wave, AC was really appreciated and jacuzzi/bath was a cherry on top. Lovely staff

Cons:

Late partying. It is expected, it would have been just nice to be informed in advance. But even then it's really not a big deal as the room is quite sound proof.

Oh, I'd suggest installing 1 big mattress across both joined beds as a split between two beds was a bit uneasy.
