受付の女性はニコニコ笑顔で対応してくれて、てきぱきと手続きが進んですぐにチェックインできた。私は英語が下手なのでチェックイン時はいつも緊張するが、スムーズな対応に不安が吹き飛んだ。
部屋は期待より広く、清潔。水回りもまずまずきれい。バスルームのシャワーがとても個性的だった。
近所に店舗など全然ない地域なので別料金の朝食を頼んだが、期待以上に素晴らしく、うれしい誤算だった。庭が眺められるダイニング専用スペースがあり、特にベーコンがおいしかった。有料だけあって、スタッフがこまめに清掃や補充をしてくれて良かった。
The staff were very helpful and lovely
I was on a suite but it didn’t have the basics like a drawer for my underwear or clothes. There were only 4 hangers, 2 of which had the bath robes on (nice touch). Nowhere to hang my coat so had to throw it over the sofa. Then when I did use the robe there was no hook in the bathroom to hang it on. Also the bathtub had lots of mold and limescale. The bath plug got stuck and I couldn’t drain the bath water.

Breakfast was good, good selection and loads of it, but wasn’t very hot.
Booked and paid extra for queen size bed. This was in fact 2 singles pushed together that were at different heights.
Pillows uncomfortable and although there was a pillow menu, didn’t find out till went to bed and it was late.
Shower had poor water flow and the height adjuster didn’t move.
Car electric chargers did not work.
Small selection of wine at bar and although they found a bottle from the store room, it was not cold.

Staff were very helpful, shower was good - large and powerful.
Vegan sausages were available on request, but took a very long time and arrived still cold in the middle.
Bed was uncomfortable - we had to ask for a new duvet to sleep on as extra padding. My partner described it as the worst bed she had ever slept on. Very poor in comparison to travel lodge and Premier inn.
Pastries on Sunday morning were cold and a bit hard.
Lack of overhead lighting made it hard to do makeup.
Convenient location for where I needed to be
Terrible check in experience - said there was no record of the booking and tried to turn us away despite me showing confirmation and receipt. I refused to leave and said they needed to find us a room as it was 11pm and I'd just driven 4 hours to get there. They eventually found our reservation but said someone had accidently checked us in already. No real apology but did give us a room eventually. 2 of the 3 lights were not working and there was something snapped off in the earth pin of a socket. One light was fixed during the day after we reported them in the morning but the socket was still unsafe and other light just flashed so I had to use a torch in the night as it was the one by the bed (and there were no main lights). The "garden view" was of the road - possible due to having given the room we actually booked away earlier.
We were walking the Camino Ingles from Reading to Southampton. The Holiday Inn is not too far off the route so a convenient place to stay.
Court Yard could 9f done with being maintained. Aggressive bar staff, there customer service could be improved .
