My husband and I stayed for a few nights after plans fell through, and we needed a place to stay on short notice. It was a beautiful location with a beautiful view from our room. There was a large free parking lot. It was very welcoming with a lovely atmosphere. The rooms were decent, but bring your our washcloth. There was breakfast offered with a surcharge, so we didn't join. We did visit their restaurant for dinner after receiving gift certificates for denying room cleaning as part of their sustainability project. They didn't have many vegan options, so we got a couple salads. We did love the salads, but we had hoped for a room service menu item that they weren't able to make for us.
Everything was great. Clean and modern style.
Good Location and breakfast
No room service at night for food
This will have been my third stay in the Gateway as I am external examiner at DKIT. Really convenient for and reasonably priced. All the staff at the desk and in the restaurant could not have been more friendly or helpful. Always a pleasant experience. I drive an electric car so it is always handy to be able to top-up. I had to work all evening so it was convenient to grab a small, quick bite of lunch and sit in the restaurant. Good mixture of guests and locals in the restaurant. Rooms are large, functional and clean. No complaints and I'll be back there in 2027.
Our room was lovely, plenty of space and a great view over the bay. All the staff we met were great, friendly and helpful. The location is handy for town and the motorway.
Some features in the room, such as the carpet, could do with a little refresh. The bathroom could do with better lighting. We would have eaten in the restaurant if there were more vegetarian options.
We requested the top floor with a view and thats what we got Floor 12 . Room wasnt available until 3 on the dot despite not many booking in or waiting for a room . We were very happy with our stay at the Gateway which is the best hotel in Dundalk area . From outside the building needs a bit of render repair but from our room the full floor to ceiling windows give plenty of light. The smart TV is great and well positioned . Bathroom super with bath and shower . Towels fluffy , Bed super big and comfortable . On our Tour of Ireland we stayed at several hotels and this was the best . I had stayed here many years ago when it was the Crown Plaza and its been modernised and well maintained and upgraded to a high standard . Only slight downside is its too far to walk in to town but taxi are only a few euro , If you get a room facing west the sunsets are tremendous . Food and breakfast was very good with all round great service from the staff. Top Place to stay
We should have stayed longer.
Great rooms, large space and very comfortable!
We stayed one night as part of a mini Ireland tour and have to say this is a really first class Hotel . The staff have been very professional in every department . The room we had was on the 12th Floor (Just as I had requested ) This gave an exceptional view of the surrounding area from the huge windows from ceiling to floor. In the evening we could watch the sun going down in the west. The Room was very well appointed with nice layout , quality fittings and a six foot wide bed with with nice quality bedding and a very comfortable mattrass . The bathroom had a bath and a shower and quality fittings . The towels were soft and the room spotlessly clean. The room was fully air conditioned . The bar downstairs was comfortable and breakfast absolute quality ingredients locally sourced. Wish we were staying longer but if you are in this area we can highly recommend The Gateway for you stay . Finally, plenty of free parking and great value for what we paid. Top marks all round.
The Gateway was very clean + comfortable. The breakfast was excellent value, a great choice of anything we wanted.

Nice rooms, friendly staff, fun people in the lobby.
The restaurant is trying a bit too hard to be "fancy." It didn't work, and would be better if they just focused on good food that us commoners like.
Friendly staff
