The toilet paper situation is just sad
Pros:

Staff in pub very nice. Breakfast is great. Location is great Lots of restaurants right across the street.

Cons:

The toilet paper is so thin your fingers go through it. Seriously. It’s disgusting. I had to go out and buy my own. I was there 5 nights and my back has seized up from the poor support of the mattress. I can barely move. The water is very hard so not easy to rinse soap off. I would not stay here again.

Very good. Would use again.
Pros:

Breakfast was very good. Lots of local eateries and chain stores adjacent. Parking £5 overnight.
Tram service nearby into city is convenient.

Cons:

Room door needed a heck of a push/pull to open. Tissues in room would be nice.

I have been village member for years but this experience was very disturbing.

A pleasantly designed hotel (OP) let down by verpriced food and an unwelcoming reception experience
Pros:

The banqueting area was consistently tidy and well replenished. I also liked the hotel’s simple yet modern design, which has its own distinctive character. The room was clean overall—apart from the mugs, which I understand can occasionally be overlooked. The food and beverage staff across the bar, restaurant, and breakfast service were friendly and welcoming

Cons:

The coffee cup and spoons in the room were dirty.
Breakfast offered a standard selection, but the overall quality was disappointing. The scrambled eggs were particularly poor, while the bacon and sausages seemed undercooked. Restaurant prices also felt excessive for the quality provided, especially with plenty of other dining options just a two-minute walk from the hotel.
Some reception staff were unwelcoming and made me feel as though I was disturbing them by asking for help. When the self-check-in system couldn’t find my reservation, the receptionist assisted but appeared frustrated. Once finished, they simply placed the room card in front of the screen without a smile, a welcome, or even a standard “Enjoy your stay.” I was given no information about check-out times, breakfast, the spa facilities, or whether I needed any further assistance.
Having worked in senior hotel management for many years, these issues did not ruin my stay—I have seen it all by now. However, it is a shame because the hotel has a simple but pleasant design, comfortable facilities, and considerable potential. The guest experience could be significantly improved by matching the quality of the food to its pricing and ensuring that the reception team offers a warmer, more welcoming level of service.

Pros:

Awesome bed, lovely bathroom, handy starbucks, and a cozy pub. Everyone was nice and incredibly helpful.

Cons:

The price was a bit steep but I understood why. The prices in the pub were also a little on the premium side.
